  1. Grilles and shaker bubbles were each painted by there respective venders that supplied said part. I can't say that I've ever heard of a flake size variation for the textured argent so thats a new one on me . Fram supplied the shaker bubble but I don't know who supplied the grille. Wouldn't suprise me on the Mopar guys ( I 'm one of them ) As far as I know the 1970 Cuda shaker was medium argent only,,, with excetion to some very early build FE5 Rallye Red cars were avail with a red bubble. 1971 Shaker cars were supposedly all dark argent bubbles
  2. Yes in the OE world the grille is darker than the shaker bubble but mot by much and I have my doubts one could detect it 1/25th scale
  3. They came in both the CMG and the Ramchargers kit. I would have to ck but I might have an extra pair
  4. Tim, Actually all I need , is the hood . I made this one to fit the MPC body but it's a tad to wide . And I would rather not trim it down to fit the new Revell body.
  5. Looking sweet I am stoked about the arrival of this kit and once I get a project off the bench thats been there far to long already I will get going on one of my own. I have a customer who owns a 1/1 Hemi Cuda ( his is an auto) and I want to do a replica of his car. If anyone who has this kit and is NOT going to use the shaker hood out of it, send it my way ( all I need is the hood )
  6. Sorry, but that would be incorrect. Actually a Hemi Cuda is the only one that got the F60-15 tire as standard equipment. Everything else when ordered with 15" tires received the smaller E60-15 's The standard 'Cuda tire was an F70-14 AAR Cuda's excluded
  7. One of the new Revell 1970 Hemi Cuda kits, I wanted one of the new AMT Ford race car haulers, but he didn't have one
  8. Stopped by my local hobby shop, and whohoo they had them on the shelf. only bought one. ( Hobby Villa for the northern Ky locals ) With a very quick overview. It looks fantastic . A few flaws I would like to point out is the body line on the rear quarter panels fades out pretty bad and IMO will take some work to correct . And the wheel arches / lips are way to pronounced. Otherwise I REALLLLLLLLY like it Oh and btw. an MPC hood is too wide but would be an easy fix to make work ,more on that later.
  9. Very cool, I was at that race in Alanta - Hooters 500 if I remember right ? Bill Elliot won the race, but Alan Kulwicki won the championship
  10. 2 builtups I bought this year. Original issue Charlie Allen Dart AA/FC New tool AMT 1971 Charger The Dart I paid pretty decent money for, but the Charger I paid less than what the kit would cost by the time I add in paint decals and supplies.
  11. I like it. especially the color combo. I for one don't think this kit deserves all the bad rap it gets. It builds up into a pretty decent looking replica, especially at the price point compared to an original AMT version
  12. That is a major dis-appointment
  13. Lower rocker gills were not avail on AAR Cudas ( due to the exhaust tips ) Although you see them on restored cars . Rear window louvers were avail as an option ,,,,,BUT I think with vinyl top cars only ps, It appears the tires are no name blank sidewalls and no decals to represent the white letters ?????
  14. something like this ? This is a Tamaya champagne gold
  15. I hae only entered in one contest in the past 10 plus years and that was just this past spring, even then the only reason I did was because my daughter wanted to enter her 1st one but wouldn't do it unless I did as well. Otherwise I have no interest in contests. I build for me and me alone. I want replicas of my interests in my case . and I have no problem buying one done if it's a decent build . So there area few cars in my case I didn't build. I have posted several builds here and on a few other boards , but they account for probably less than a third of whats in my display case
  16. Looks like it might make a great parts kit
  17. Here ya go, not mine . nor do I know the seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/Johan-1964-Plymouth-Fury-Original-Body-Nice-Scripts-Look-Circa-1964-/331066423417?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4d1518b879
  18. I don't mess with the japanese model co product lines so I can't compere any of them But for me , and for there time periods they were released,,,,,the Revell Thunderbolt and the 1969 Camaro were the best compared to what was avail at the time,, and since. I have a Johan Turbine car and if you compare it to anything else ( especially from the same time period) it's a no brainer, even compared to some modern tooled kits, it's still is a major standout. ( I have yet to build one though, I cheated I bought an original issue promo ) But looking at the Moebius 300 kit it might give the Turbine car a good run. The sad part is there designed - produced 50 years apart. Says something major about the Johan Turbine car
  19. Not sure but I want to say I've seen a resin 1970 Coronet wagon,,,somewhere ,,,sometime. Just don't remember who or where. R+R did a 1970 Coronet 4 door but I don't think they did a wagon to, at least I don't think they did. ps, theres not much body wise that is the same between a 1969 and a 1970 Coronet. I would start from scratch before I went that route
  20. Whats the best rattle can to do the Gold on the Bob Ford car ? It almost looks like the same or very similar color to the interior of the car ?
  21. I'm in. I've got this kit on my 'short list' ,,,,,Which is much shorter the 'someday' list .
  22. Figures, I don't have one of them . I need those seats for a 1967 Belvedere 2 door hardtop build Thanks
  23. I agee,it appears to be a semi complete kit. MCW's description. PLY-64ht 1964 Plymouth Fury 2dr. Ht. (1/25th scale) $45.00 (Original JoHan - complete car less engine, wheels & tires) Use Lindberg '64 Dodge/Plymouth or Polar Lights '65 Coronet for engine. With Drag decals $53.00 (specify - Golden Commando, Lawman, or Hayden Proffitt)
  24. . Not 100% sure , but I think red . What are the bench seats from ? Johan Police car I assume. If so , I need to find a set of them .
  25. I've never seen any picture of the S+M 1971 car where it had the gilled fenders,,,,, at least not in any picture of it i've seen of it . Back then cars would / could and usually did change from week to week . I just went thru every picture of the 1971 Sox and Martin cuda I have on file. None show it with gilled fenders , and only 2 show it with a red ft bumper. One of them is a static shot (my guess it's early in the year as a publicity shoot ) with Jake King in the photo and the other is an action shot ( not sure when or where it was taken )
