  1. May seem morbid. But I look at pictures like this and wonder. Odds are the parents are both gone. The little girl would be in her mid 60s I guess . Wonder if shes still around
  2. Call it gasser inspired or faux gasser. But I call it cool as chit . I dont even like gassers but now I want to build one just like this colors and all just to sit beside my badman kit
  3. Also, a 1963 Plymouth ( or dodge for that matter ) does NOT have the same fabric head liner material that runs down the A pillar like the later cars did. I think that started with 1968 models They have a piece of hard metal trim, sometimes chrome trim moulding there instead
  4. Keep in mind. the head liner does not go all the way to the edge of the top of the windshield. There is a metal trim about 1.25" wide that edges the upper windshield opening. the rear edge of the headliner goes pretty much all the way to the glass but does have a smaller piece of trim but its not as wide of the front one is. as far as fabric choice. I would go with a flat color of choice for the interior ,,, the headliner in this scale isnt going to have any noticeable texture to it
  5. you and me both. I'm actually trying my best to keep modern or recently tooled kit purchases to a bare minimum and concentrate of my old annuals / drag car wants list. But even its getting incredibly small nowadays / aka very limited purchases. And even then it has to be a pretty good buy for me to bite . The days of my over paying for ANY kit is over. I already have far more than I will probably ever build while I am on the green side . I want one of the new Dyon Don cougar kits. But I can wait till I get a good deal on one. Buying off the net and paying postage , isnt going to happen. I'll do without it first
  6. Interesting kits. Even though its 100% fictitious. But, To be honest. I wouldn't mid having one of these kits to build.
  7. I'll give you money back on this 1960 in a heartbeat brother. Just say the word ( just dont tell my wife , she has this insane thinking I dont Need any more models , silly girls ) here is a teaser pic of the 61 Should be here by the end of the week so I'll post a better picture then
  8. I like that thinking. Stopped at one of the local LHS today. he didnt have any yet
  9. Yep, thats the one. The box and the trailer will go away / become trade fodder I almost bought a different one a while back,. but it was missing the hood inserts which I have a feeling cant be easy to find . I'm glad I waited. This one I felt was reasonable $$
  10. Nice, Looks like I'll be adding one of these to the kit pile , dang it . Been trying to avoid adding to it lately with modern stuff and concentrate more on my old annuals wants
  11. Yep, been after either a 61 or 62 for a while now. I put a bid in to see if I could get lucky. and from what I can tell it was a good buy ( under $60 ) By the time I off the box and the trailer / I'll be in it about what a modern kit costs. Life is good. ...Now I need a clean builder 1960 F100 to go with it
  12. Agreed, Im a convertible fan myself. So I don't think I any of the hardtops. Im a 1959 Model myself ( I have all the convertibles for that year as well ) I did just win a 1961 Ford F100 this morning. ( been after one for a while now and routinely exceed my toy fund allows )
  13. its a good weekend for me. Won an auction on 'that ' site. For a 1961 Ford F100 pickup. Been after either a 1961 one 62 for a while now and they seem to regularly go for more then my budget allows / am willing to pay Won this one for under $60. Not bad considering it has the box and even the trailer included, ( both of which will be used a trade fodder ) Now, If I can just get a decent buy on a 1960 F100 to go with it
  14. Dont limit yourself to just model paints . Walks into most any decent auto parts store and find the Duplicolor paint rack .I use Duplicolor laquers a lot. ( a good primer base is required though ) So your color options are pretty much endless
  15. Silly question, I know there are several members here that collect old annuals besides myself . Anyone here have all the ones shown here ? Except the 61 Thunderbird and a Lincoln . I own all the convertibles
  16. DUDE,,,, thats looks killer. color , stance, interior is perfect .
  17. Agreed, no reason to rush. its not a race. just as an fyi, even though this build looks great silver. the original car was white body
  18. I'll have to ck. But I may have an extra boot for the Ford
  19. pretty cool. I for one would LOVE to ride along in a hot lap in one of these
  20. How deep is your wallet . This is about right for an unbuilt https://www.ebay.com/itm/MPC-1975-Plymouth-Duster-Annual-Kit-MINT-Unbuilt-Sealed-Inside-NM-Box/202315953781?hash=item2f1af87675:g:bqEAAOSwPN1amGY6 This auction has a Sox and Martin pro stock builder in it , which is a 1973 . appears to be missing bumpers https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-MPC-PRO-STOCK-PLYMOUTH-DUSTER-LOT-1-25/282995336632?hash=item41e3d625b8:g:FRgAAOSwb39bFc9m a distressed 73 promo should go cheap https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Plymouth-Duster-Dealer-Promo-Model-1-25-scale/132648898386?hash=item1ee27d8f52:g:Wt8AAOSwdhlbFFvo
  21. Trying to make that Dart kit look like a Duster is huge task . As about the only thing it has in common with a Duster is the basic shape of the body. IMO,,,,You can probably find a decent builder actual 75 Duster without hurting the wallet to bad . the 73 to 75 Duster kits are not real hateful to find as a decent builtup / builder. Odds are you can find one for not much more than this dart kit costs . I sold the 2 or 3 parts kit Dusters I had last year. and I don't think I got maybe $40 for them ( there were 2 or 3 builders in the lot )
  22. meh, Sorry . Not a fan of the hot wheels look in the 1/1 world
  23. As far as I'm concerned, a 1:1 vintage Ferrari is just another item that's only good for "looking at". Steve Although that may be the norm with Ferrari owners. I know of a couple BIG MONEY cars that get flogged fairly regularly . One ladyy I know of has an early 30s Alfa Romeo, she runs the day lights out of Her thought is anything can be fixed, and she can afford to do pretty much anything she wants , when she wants . Cool, Not for me, but still pretty cool. And I for one don't care for the Testarossa . I much prefer the GTO
