  1. Thanks all. Ive posted pics of this car before. But never been real happy with the picture quality . Ive literately taken hundreds of pics of this build with my phone camera and another different / older Sony camera. And I've never been able to really capture the color of the lower body like I want. So Im not sure if the camera eye likes the color or what.( I'm not going to rule out user error either ) Plus get a full depth of field in focus . I want to be able to read all the lettering along the side of the car in one frame. I'm still not 100% happy , but I think its the closest Ive come to date. These were done solely to give me a baseline with this particular camera. My goal is to learn how to fully take advantage of everything the camera is capable of,,,,,sooner than later. Talking to the camera sales tech we came to the conclusion its a good starter / entry level DSLR . ( If you can call $300 entry level) I was looking at a $600 + Nikon camera and decided it might be best take baby steps first.
  2. Just playing with my new camera. Not a big money camera in any way. Just a good entry level Canon DSLR . Bought it mainly for my daughters high school photography class. Hopefully, She will learn how to properly use it to its full extent, then show us. yippee All taken outside in natural light with no flash. Some have the sun , others are when the sun ducked in behind the clouds. I just left the camera in Auto mode this time around to establish some kind of a base line to compare to later on. For the 1st time using it, I think they came out great. Shows the color better than my phone camera. And a pretty decent depth of view for a 1st timer.
  3. No fair posting pics of the actual car though....... WOW thats nice
  4. Sure was, Called Q5 Turquoise. Pretty rare color on any 1969 Mopar of any body style To the op, nice job.
  5. It took me a couple years to get a clean MPC 1968 Coronet. So I'm not about to modify it to a Bee. But I want to do the Dick Landy car in the background here and Im pretty sure its a Bee.( not 100% though ) So I'm thinking modify a resin body instead. Im just so against resin because there so much junk resin out there I'm reluctant to pull the trigger on one unless I have it in my hands to ck quality first.
  6. Not that Im aware of. Monogram used to make one in 1.24th scale but it left A LOT to be desired . Another AAR factoid. ALL AARs had a molded in satin black grille and lower valance insert. . ALL other 1970 Barracudas / Cudas get a medium argent grille AAR All the others
  7. I had a so so glass for an old annual 1960 Ford. Nothing real serious that like you could feel with your finger. Typical hazy light scuffed looking glass . But I was amazed how well it looked after a simple dip in future. No polishing or sanding in any way. Dipped it and pulled it right back out. l Let it sit over night an viola . It looks killer
  8. WOW. I like it. Well done
  9. Correct, Top of fenders, , header panel and along the top edge of the doors / quarter window openings as well Challenger TA is the hood only
  10. A resin repop of the MPC annual kit pops up on ebay pretty regularly. I have a stryene RT . I avoid resin as much as I can But as much as I want a Superbee at some point I may pull the trigger on one sooner than later' 1968 Bee
  11. Biggest issue is going to be removing the molded in rear finish panel. Coronet RT
  12. Not to drag this build of subject But was there a 67 Gran Prix model made back then
  13. Ok, All the pics I have are the Pat Foster driven car ( aka the one I plan to replicate and is how I do my searches ) Carry on .
  14. If I may ask, Where did you obtain the info this car had an offset driver / engine arrangement ? Ive been collecting info on this car for a while now ( also looking for the decals in 1/25th scale ) To do as a future build . And I don't remember anything ever stating anything about off sets . Ps, this last pic / body down is a new nostalgia car. but even it shows a center engine / driver arrangement. And it shows the lowered rocker panel ( ala, pro mod style / new nostalgia ) That the original car did not have.
  15. That's a NICE build. Color combination is perfect Gonna have to get me one of these kits. (Already have an original 59 annual for later on)
  16. Agreed. There are numerous restoration mistakes out there. If you have any questions on what is replica stock. Ask away. Been a Mopar guy my entire adult life. And a former judge for the Mopar Nats. On a 1970 the shaker was argent silver (some early models in FE5 red were avail with red shakers. But that's the only exception. The 1971s the shaker was a dark argent (almost black ) As far as wheels. All Hemi Cudas were 15" wheels. The 5 spoke wheels were 14" only on a mopar. But that's the nice thing about models. We can build them any way desired.
  17. I vote (like my vote really matters ) the silver Rallye (the 5 spokes were not avail on a Hemi Cuda ) But I will say B5 looks good with B5 blue steel wheels and beanie hubcaps.
  18. Very....VERY nice. I've got one of these kits for later on. You may have just given me my color combo.
  19. Love the shortbed conversion. I've been trying to get a clean 60 or 61 F150 for a while now. Always seem to get beat out
  20. Looks good. Probably one of my favorite kits to build (have 6 done so far and counting )
  21. Just an fyi. The white on the superbird is owner added. ALL Superbitds had black vinyl tops and nose decals.
  22. I've got a couple digital slide calipers from Loews. Had them for about what 10 years. Replace the battery every couple years and never an issue
  23. Nice. I worked on these cars when they were new. They were a blast to drive.
  24. I've built 4 or 5 Biggest issue for me. As mentioned the attaching points for the wheels is really fragile.
  25. MAIL CALL Johan 1959 Cadillac 4 door builtup. Not a cream-puff by any standards. ( front fender ornaments ) and hood emblem are sanded off. paint is on a tad to thick to tell if the side emblems are there or not . Either way,,,,,,, with a little work. It should rebuild without a whole lot of fuss. One more to scratch off the want list .
