  1. this may be true. But it was boxed and marketed from the beginning as Hemi Under Glass
  2. The way I understand it. the OP wants to fog paint over thin pinstripes ( like shown in the picture ) for that he needs to lay a very thin pinstripe tape down and paint along said tape with a very small tipped air brush And btw, I did NOT use an airbrush or tape. Fireball 500 was done last year
  3. Agreed, All I listed are on my bench or just to the side of it and all get work done to them from time to time . My Golden Commandos car is box stock with nothing added except Fred Cady decals. The Lawman 64 Plymouth is pretty close to that except a Johan hood scoop , an auto trans from another lindberg kit and a pre-wired dist. Right now, Nothing is getting worked on. Models for me are a Fall and Winter hobby The Superbird and the Challenger have never been far away from the immediate work area or my mind. But neither is box stock and are the 2 most detailed builds I've attempted in several years. My problem is I get bored with adding detail and the slow pace it requires so only work on those 2 when I have the inclination. I much prefer box stock builds. They're easier, smoother with less headaches ( most of the time )
  4. Tyrone Malone Superboss Tommy Ivo 4 engine car. aka Showboat There was actually 3 different Hemi Under Glass cars. The common / re-issued 1966 , a 1968 and also a 1969 Dodge fever pickup
  5. I have a 1959 and two 1960s. , ( all convertibles ) Ive never been a huge fan of the 61 and up body style myself. But yours has me thinking more and more about it. Especially in the black with off white interior
  6. You just need the hood ? I have to ck to see how many I bought. I know I have 3 , and plans for all 3. But think I have a few more ,,,will ck tonight
  7. The very first Little Red Wagon
  8. Everything I own is on the Que to be built, its the WHEN part thats the problem. But physically on the bench or at the least very close by at the moment Lawman 1964 Plymouth Super stock 426 wedge Golden Commandos 1964 Plymouth Super Stock 426 Hemi Johan Plymouth Superbird - replica build of a friends former car MPC 1970 Challenger 340 - replica of my former car AMT 1959 Galaxie Sunliner conv build I dont build much ( aka NONE ) in the summer time. So it'll be a few more months before I get time to get back to the bench
  9. Have you thought about taking two Xacto blades spaced apart accordingly the width you want. And cut stripes of electrical tape,,,,. they carefully just wrap it around the wheel . Maybe with a little dab of superglue on the end
  10. I would have to double ck. But I don't think the S+M Bird has the stock tires or wheels in it anyway
  11. Mail man dropped my 1966 dodge power wagon w-300 4-door resin buy. Not a bad piece, hood needs some work to fit better for my tastes . Now, I just need to work out a plan to do something with it besides sit in a box on the shelf above the workbench.
  12. No ones ever copied it that I know of. ( probably be a loosing proposition if they did. The Johan kit is not terribly difficult to find . ) Wasn't this question just asked a few weeks back ?
  13. Doubt there's any real way to say with any kind of accuracy. Not to mention the Touch Tone Terror version I built mine from an unbuilt TTT version probably 10 years ago. With Fred Cady decals . I also have an unbuilt original issue Little Red Wagon put away ( not worth anything even close to what it once was. )
  14. I tried to paint mine in a color similar to the molded clear orange car. Its one of my favorites to date . A very simple , and obviously proportionally challenged kit. But it looks killer in the display case .
  15. agreed. I got lucky....bought my convertible 2 years ago. And paid about $65 for it. Since then I see them selling in the $80 - $100 range. Seems like a hardtop builder regularly sells for over $100 .
  16. I'm lucky I guess. I have two local hobby shops within a 15 minute drive. 1st one has mostly RC stuff but with a pretty decent model selection. After several conversations. I got him to start stocking Tamiya paints. The 2nd one is mostly train stuff. But he also has models and supplies. With a real good paint selection . I try to use them both as much as I can.
  17. Fyi. A convertible will be cheaper than a hardtop.
  18. I built the Fireball 500. Trailer is still in the box. not sure what or if I'll ever do anything with it
  19. Missing link has it and its really REALLY NICE
  20. If you have one. Take a good look at the up top from what I believe is a 1965 Impala top. ( top came with several builders I bought a few years back ) Ive got one sitting on my 300 vert promo and it sure looks like it would be a pretty easy to make work. Ive tried it on several cars and it fits the 300 the best . I can get pictures this weekend maybe
  21. Friend of mine is looking for a early - mid 70s example
  22. Does a model exist to do a stock Opel Kadett . preferably 1/25th scale
  23. I may not be the best one to answer this . But I would build the S+M car. Then grab another one to do the 2nd S+M car. ( There was a SS car and a MP class car ) Then grab another one to do replica stock . But Ive got probably 4 or 5 Johan Superbird kits so my opinion is tainted somewhat
  24. Ive got a Johan Bird in process. And using the AMT chassis under it as well. Someday I'll finish it . Its supposed to be a replica of a good friends old car
  25. Just my opinion. But I personally think the AMT body better represents a Charger. with a little bit of work on the nose to body fit. IMO it looks better than the Revell kit does Something about the exaggerated door scallops on the Revell kit makes it look weird , especially in a light color The AMT kit , I built a looooong time ago. ( its starting to fall apart now ) And yes it does have the newer AMT chassis under it
