On a Mopar ? Sorry, But I dis-agree. Redlines were 1967 thru 1969 only Blue lines were 1965 and 66. Raised white letters or white lines were 1970 and later

Post your crazy IMSA cars...
gtx6970 replied to aurfalien's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Closest thing I have ever built to an IMSA car. Did this back early 80s time frame maybe -
Just in case anyone has one of these as a parts kit / doner . I could use the tail lights out of one to fix an old annual convertible I have

Thanks, After seeing what another sold for the past couple days. I stole this one. Sold the box and the spare parts elsewhere earlier today. That Brings the costs down even more. Puts me in it at just under $75 postage and all.

Cant argue with your logic . I'm kind of in the same boat. Although I do buy a few new ones here and there. ( new 1970 Charger for example ) Otherwise my buying has become extremely selective the last year or so . At my age and current build rate I need to live to about 150 to get just what I already have here . I will be retiring in the next 7 or 8 years so HOPEFULLY my build rate will go up dramatically.

Good deal. I might actually have to pick one of these up . I have an original issue 1970, but no 1969s . And I know a guy who used to own a white 1969 Boss 302, ( sold it many years ago )

Is this the car thats listed as 1.25th yet its actually 1,24th scale ?

Mail man just dropped this one off. An MPC 1967 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. The interior is brush painted and will strip super easy. Chassis just has a few little things picked out in black paint. The body is no paint anywhere , all the emblems are mint . This will be an easy one. The windshield frame is pushed down a little more than I thought ( not packed very well ) . But I think will be a fairly easy fix . All the parts for it are there. And it looks like everything to build it stock is there. This is one Ive wanted for a while,,,but not bad enough I was gonna pay for the moon to get it. It was listed as a buy it now, or make an offer. So I though what the heck , ( nothing ventured = nothing gained) and I did, for about half the buy it now price. And the seller accepted it. Considering what I see these sell for on a very regular basis. I got a pretty good deal on it. Ive already pulled all the OE stock stuff out of the kit that I'll need. And will sell off the box and all the remains.

Sort of. The box art represents the actual Rapid Transit System car . Yes its a one of a kind But there is nothing in the box to even come close to build said car

I would prefer to delete pictures out once the thread dies . Ive got pics in threads from 4 years ago. I think its run its course. there used to be a way to delete them in my attachments list but I had to do them one at a time. Not easy but certainly easier then going to each individual thread to do it.

Good luck with that . Way ahead of ya though. Ive got all the imperials from 1958 thru 1962 I think , all convertibles though ( no interest to go any newer ) To be honest. I was just looking over the pile this morning. I'm REALLY beginning to think I need to consider thinning the stash down. Cut out any duplicates and off any odd balls I may never do . I was looking for one car ( took a while but I found it btw ) and realized Ive got 3 1960 Ford Sunliners , not counting the one I built earlier this year . I might have a problem.

I use it all the time with nice results. I don't shoot for super slick jobs . But I'm happy with them.

TM Resins - contact information?
gtx6970 replied to impcon's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Agreed, Ive done this a few times and won a couple times. If not Wait a couple days for the next one and try again. I refuse to get in a bidding war with resin parts. I'll wait for the next listing -
Took the words right out of my mouth. I build for me and me alone. If someone likes it great. If someone hates it , OK. Makes no difference for me either way . Want to offer praises or critiques , go right ahead . Im a big boy with pretty thick skin . I might show pictures of something online . But entering contests with it isnt my intent when I start a build.

Glenn Bunch IMSA Challenger
gtx6970 replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Its got a 1970 grill in it. And the roofs are all the same. Other wise thats where any similarities end with a 1/1 car -
One for the pile. One of the old Johan Re-issue 1968 Chrysler 300 promos. These were sold back in the 80s and early 90's . I used to have a 1/1 . So I have a soft spot for these cars.

Love the concept of it. 3D printing very well could be the wave of the future But myself I never understood the big deal about the 1/1 car. I thought it was one ugly duckling
