  1. We agree....A LOT. I started maybe 3 or 4 years back buying up old annuals. I dont know the exact quanity count.....but If I print my excel spreadsheet of them it's 3 full pages worth. In contrast I could probably count the modern tooled kit purchases on both hands. I have more than enough kits stashed away to take.me to the end of my days and never have to buy another kit.....period.
  2. Paint the floor area ( or what ever you want 'carpeted ' with a like color paint ( some use clear elmers glue ) While the paint is still quite wet , sprinkle the embossing powder on it. Once dry turn the tub over and shake to remove any excess.,,,, viola , carpet.
  3. Ok, Now that the board has been upgraded. I've looked and looked and I still see no way to delete pictures other than go to each individual thread and modify them there, which to me seems like a HUGE pain in the ars . I would really prefer to be able to just open 'my attachments ' and click each individual picture and hit delete even multiples at a time ,,,sure sounds simple ? Opening an account on a 3rd party picture hosting site is not an option for me. I''ll go without posting pictures first ( simple personal preference reasons only )
  4. Depends on if the current Revell 1970 kit has the base vinyl interior or the upgraded leather interior seat pattern. Leather was the same on both 1970 and 1971 I don't have one close by to ck at the moment. Ive started on one but all I have done so far is body and paint ( Vitamin C orange to replicate a good friends car )
  5. Now there' an idea I never would have thought of. I may have to borrow your idea. Sorry guys but if I worried about the wrong font on license plate decal on a model car would take ALL the fun out of it for me.
  6. I've always thought the car looked like Mopars FY1 yellow. I' getting ready to build a 1970 charger in same color. And I think Tamiya __TS16____ is the closest I've found yet.
  7. Love to watch your cars come together. Being a huge fan of your same subject matter is only icing on the cake.
  8. Nice collection. I wonder why guys spend years to build such a collection. Then sell off a vast majority one assembled. I don' think he has owned the landy or gas Ronda car all that long.
  9. No names need mentioned. But I know EXACTLY who you refer to . and I refuse to buy from him even though on some he is the only game in town for some . I'll do without first.
  10. I'll think about it and get back to you..........................................................Im thinking,.....................................................I;m thinking ................................................. Better yet, I'll just say ,,,,nope. Sorry bud. Ive been after one of these for a while. The body on this thing is pristine.
  11. Bought this one via a face book group I follow. Johan 1960 Cadillac sedan and the box . Absolutely mint untouched unpainted body . Chrome is very nice and will not be rechromed . interior brush painted in what looks like testors enamel . Odds are I'll use the box as trade material
  12. Another method is Run a bead of liquid glue along the edge of what you want to join. . While its still wet put the 2 pieces together , let sit a minute or 2 , pull them apart slightly. then squish them back together. it will squash a small amount of plastic out. Let it dry a day or so then sand the seam .Ive done this a few times with zero bondo required
  13. Try just a little less hardener
  14. Same here. I rarely go beyond just paint the chassis a simple satin black anymore. Been a couple lately that I went all out,,,,, and actually detail painted the molded in exhaust .
  15. I would sure like to take a test drive,,,,, I mean ,,,,,,just to make sure
  16. I got some truck tires from Missing link via Ebay WHEELS
  17. I kinda like it. ....well all but that straight on side profile shot .
  18. I love it, especially the mural on the lower body. You make those yourself ? That little truck sure went thru some changes over the years .
  19. Looks good with the recall wheels I built one of these back then as well, , a replica of a good friends actual car. B 5 blue with black top and interior, 383 4 spd car. I REALLLY need to build another one for myself
  20. Here's a good side by side of the exact same model , Only difference is I flipped the front spindles to get the nose of the car just a touch taller in front . Same kit, exact same tires and wheels , neither one has had the body or wheel well altered in any way The Dodge Boys car sits about right. The Butterfly car is as the instructions call for,,which is a just a tad to low. IMO
  21. 1st two cars are at rest, Last pics shown the car is at take off .
  22. I agree the kits front tires may be just a tad to small. But not much. And yes they are all based on the actual Color Me Gone car pictured ( FYI, it is NOT the original car raced by Roger Lindamood back in the day . Its a real max wedge car, just not THE actual car Also, keep in mind these old Mopars used a torsion bar front suspension so they may sit lower in the front at rest ( as opposed to coil spring equipped GM or Ford cars of the period ) But the nose would rise dramatically at take off to appear the same as the competition
  23. Same here. I'll use Tamiya rattle cans ( and some Testors ) ,,,, or Duplicolor lacquers for 1/1 cars pretty much exclusively. I couldn't tell you the last time I used an enamel spray.
  24. If your interested in selling or trading the roadrunner box Keep me in mind ( I have the original issue kit )
