I did the future dip on an old annual glass. And was amazed at how well it looked once dry

I feel the same way. we all know they are planning an AFX car , just a matter of when . And its not like I need more shelf stock to keep me busy
-
MPC 1970 and 71 were shaker hood only. 1972 thru 1974 were flat hood only ( with optional glue on scoop ) like mentioned the more recent snap kit is flat ,,,but molded in

Pulled them out again this afternoon. The Commandos car has a very,, VERY light twist to it ( nothing some warm water will not fix ) The Leal car is near perfect.
-
just a few days ago. i got both the Commandos and Leal cars. the body on both is pretty nice , door seams are really nice.

Not sure if its just in the picture. or not. But it looks like the head light area should be deeper / recessed farther looks to flush with the outer grille mldg compared to a 1/1

NOW, we're talking. Once its done via print or resin. I,m very interested in seeing more

Thats not a GTX grille
-
Thanks for bringing this up. I started a 1968 GTX conversion years ago. But every attempt at the grill ended up as trash fodder. I want to revisit this one someday and this post / link has renewed my interest to get back to it someday soon.

Nice. Not much into show cars.......BUT.. I keep thinking i want to build one of these
-
Nice, I have one on my to do list. Hopefully sooner than later

Oh man that sucks. You hap[pen to know if the car was repaired or wrote off as a total loss ? I saw a picture just a couple years ago. Where a Superbird was involved in a front end collision. It hurt the nose cone pretty bad ( never did hear what happened to it afterwards if it got repaired or not )

On the 1/1 . the underhood box is all fiberglass. Only the air cleaner is metal The hood scoops were also fiberglass with exception to the chrome front edge mldg.,,,,, those were potmetal

Nice, Like how you actually did the black weatherstrip on the leading edge of the fenders like on the 1/1

The only clear pic I have of his Comet with the body up is the 1966 car ,,which is obviously a different chassis -

I seem to remember reading from numerous sites. these Cougar kits are REALLY tough to build and will require quite a bit of patience on the builders part to get them done without hitting a wall . I have several ,,,, But NONE are beyond much more than simply opened the box Which brings up the question,,,,what chassis is in the kit. I have a Kenz/Leslie car handy and it sure looks like this -
Merry Christmas to me. A few days ago the mail man dropped off a few goodies. For the builders that go well beyond the box contents. you NEED to get some of these carbs from Fireball Model works . Simple pictures do NOT do them justice. I picked up a couple sets as well as a few sets of the normal AVS carbs as well Original issue 1964 Dodge Polara convertible body. I have enough parts stashed away to make it 100% complete. This one now gives me 2 of them . I may try to use one as trade material to get a 1964 Fury convertible ,,,,, maybe

I foil the emblem before any paint or primer is applied. Trimmed just as close as if your doing it post paint work The once the color coats are on . I take the small Tamiya pointed swabs dipped in lacquer thinner and lightly go over the raised lettering to reveal the foiled emblem . ( I use a lighted magnifier to keep a real close eye on progress ,, a little goes a long way believe me ) Once revealed go over it lightly with nothing but a tissue or similar ( toilet paper as an example ) to bring up the shine . Then clear it all. It sounds SOOOOOO much more difficult than it really is . Ive been told the clear first THEN do the Q tip trick works just as well. Once done the above and your emblems are supposed to be gold tinted ( This Lincoln is an example ) then and only then take a yellow sharpie then lightly go over the foil to tint it yellow/gold .

Looks good. I really like the big cars . And dont be afraid to try the foil before paint trick , Trust me once you do. You will never go back

Agreed, ESPECIALLY the color
