They just showed 2 episodes on MeTV last Sunday as a tribute to Hesseman. They were the ones when Johnny takes a second job playing disco on TV for Mary Frann who went on to star as Bob Newhart's wife in Newhart. I wish MeTV would show both of those series again sometime. Bob Newhart is another favorite that luckily is still with us.

Paint peel: How to get rid of it?
Miatatom replied to conchan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sand it down smooth and don't use light coats next time. -
What's MDF?

So you know what happens if you shoot one. You'll wind up on the table. ?

So cool. I hope no one wants to make a trophy out of her.

The skills some people have amazes me. They're the kind of folks I wish had lived near me when I was growing up. I'd have swept their floors just to hang around and learn.

Comedian/actor,Louie Anderson passed away
Miatatom replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Louie was one funny man. I wondered what happened to his career. It seemed to peak a long time ago and then he sort of disappeared. He seemed to be resurfacing lately. I wonder if our parents felt this way during their later years as their peers passed away and we didn't even hardly know them? I doubt that my granddaughters know either one of them. -

Thanks, Ace, eBay is fine with me. Should have thought of that. -

Sounds like you've gone to a lot more detail work than I did. I'd like to see it. -

I thought about that and decided that I could buy some rectangular steel and cut it to the desired length. -
Something To Hold Your Model While You Work On It

Maybe. The plastic parts have grooves. I'm not sure what r/c servo tape is. -
One method I've ditched is "apply a couple of mist coats". I've read that advice here on the forum and it just doesn't work for me. I mostly spray lacquers, Createx or Scalefinishes products. I put on 2, maybe 3 medium to heavy coats. I've got a PS290 but really use my Paasche H with a #5 tip most of the time. I adjust my regulator to 20 psi with the airbrush trigger open. Distance is 4 to 6 inches. I base my speed on how the paint is laying down. I always focus on the surface as the paint goes on, not the brush or the spray pattern. Everyone has their system, that's mine.

I've had issues in the past when trying to do delicate work on a project. I'm talking about placing decals, attaching very small parts, etc. I saw a suggestion some time back here on the forum about circuit board holders. Well, I ought one and I'm very happy with the results I'm getting. I've finished my Bugeye and used the holder when I was doing decal work and attaching parts like the windscreen and mirrors. I've included pics of the model before I attached the mirrors. What I really like is being able to rotate the model and hold it in place at any angle. I modified it by covering the each of the plastic holders with a soft makeup sponge. I used zip ties to hold them in place.

I bought a quart (I think) at Walmart here in Tennessee.

A Replica Of My Vintage Race Car

I thought it was a 1/25 but I'm thinking it's a 1/24 from Gunze. I think I tossed the original box -
Thanks for sharing this tip. Sounds like the solution to some of my problems. Solves the problem of thicker CA glue turning solid after a while.

Looking For a Source For Mirrors
Miatatom replied to Miatatom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've scratched them out and painted them, so they'll be on the model in the morning. I'll take pics and post them in the Under Glass section. This was one model I wasn't going to give up on, but it's time to get it finished. -
Looking For a Source For Mirrors
Miatatom replied to Miatatom's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I really appreciate the recommendations for the mirrors but my model is 1/25 and the mirrors are 1/24. I've gone ahead trying to scratch build some. They probably won't match the ones on the 1:1 though.
