  1. Is this what you're trying to do?
  2. My favorite racing film of all time. Got to see it at the Brainerd Cinerama in Chattanooga on the HUGE screen. It was cool. Your kit bash F1 car is cool.
  3. That little saw looks cool. Can't see all the packaging. What's the brand and where did you get it?
  4. What do you use for a barrier coat?
  5. It's got to be like Broadway for me. 75 year old eyes don't work as well as they should. I've replaced all my fluorescent lights with the LEDs from Harbor Freight. It's helped a lot. They're usually on sale for 19.99 each.
  6. Spoons have always been misleading to me. I can paint a spoon and it'll look perfect. If I was building model spoons, I'd be the painting champ! ?
  7. Yes, the paint is amazing. Brand and color please.
  8. I'm looking for something larger than sprue or spoons for practicing spraying. They'd work for testing compatibility though. May buy a few signs and see how they work. Thanks, I'd forgotten about them.
  9. I'd like to find a cheap readily available source of plastic to test paints for compatibility and just practice spraying with an airbrush. I don't have that many extra kits to just sacrifice for that purpose. What do you guys practice and test on?
  10. Do you have the web address?
  11. I've got all of them except the Ligier. Almost done with the Newman Haas Lola.
  12. Started when I was a teen in the late 50s. Didn't pick it back up until I spotted a replica of the ship I served on in the US Navy. Still haven't finished it in 8 years. Being a retired amateur racer, I build mostly race cars, especially ones a significant historically. But I'm starting some custom stuff too. I don't even post pictures of many of the ones that I manage to finish. Usually too many mistakes in my opinion. So yeah, I build for myself. Can't get under a 1:1 any more so the bench is it, when I can stand that for a while. Bad bad back. Gotta keep something to do with my hands. Got that from my Dad.
  13. Looks like they're on eBay and Facebook.
  14. I've not run across any paints that are ready to spray. Pretty much everything has to be reduced unless you're going to decant canned spray paints. Good luck with your choice.
  15. I forgot to mention that one of the things I really like about Createx is that you don't need to use primer. Works great without it.
  16. The original line of Createx is for T shirts but the Wicked line from Createx can be used on hard surfaces (plastic model cars). Mixing is easy. They have lots of help and videos at createx.com
  17. Craft paint isn't going to teach you very much. I've tried it and failed. YMMV. Each type of paint is different and requires different techniques to get good results. I like the Tamiya lacquers and especially the Createx Wicked line. I decant the lacquers and airbrush them.
  18. Tamiya TS-29 Semi-Gloss Black lacquer works for me. Just used it on some suspension parts. There's also Tamiya TS-6 Matte Black. Haven't tried it.
  19. Thanks again, Rob.
  20. My avatar says it all. ?
