John Agugliaro of Queens, NY passed away today.  He was known here on the forum as Fastback340 after his 1:1 1968 Barracuda. His last post on the board was September 26.  He was a member of the Liars Club.  I knew John for over 20 years, first through the interaction of our clubs, but we got friendly in the old AOL Model Car Chat where he was known as NYJON58, which let me know we were the same age.  His wife Amy always accompanied him to shows and it was always nice to see them.  John worked full time in auto restoration, and hadn't built a model in a few years.  He was very excited to build and finish a model for NNL East last year.  I believe he had a build thread for that on this board. Last I knew he was working on a model of his 1:1 Barracuda.  I don't know if he ever finished this.

So in sadness we send condolences to his wife Amy, his family and many friends.

Hate to hear news like this. Never met him person. But he seemed like a good guy on here.

May the big highway in the sky be traffic, gas tank forever full, windows down and pedal to the metal.

RIP John.

Jeff, thanks for posting the link to John's posts. I lost track of time and details, old age I guess!  It must have been 2013 that John came to NNL East with a finished model and his follow up with 2014 with the replica of his Barracuda.  I didn't remember if he finished it, but there I was, the last post in his thread after I had seen it finished! I'm glad he completed it. Otherwise, I would want to see someone finish it for him.

My sincerest condolences.

At least he had you Tom to let the board know.

Imagine the poor soles who used to actively grace this board and all the sudden go silent w/o further word.

You're both lucky to have been friends, its a precious commodity.

Shocking.  And sad.  I agree, he seemed friendly, amiable, knowledgeable, and giving . . . always willing to share his unique storehouse of knowledge.

He'll be missed.

I never met John, but a lot of the MassCar guys knew him, and I never heard a bad word about him at all. My interactions here were always pleasant and I enjoyed seeing his work, especially his Barracuda.

This is a sad time in the Northeast's modeling community, and I'm sure his family know we're all by their side if they need anything.

Unbelievably sad. I remeber him posting a while back thatvhe had gotten his dream job. More recently he was in the process  of moving to a better home closer to work. Just goes to show we never know when our number is up.

My deepest condolences to his family.

Very sad news indeed.  I'd known John personally for about 20 years from when I lived in NY and I'd go to model shows there.  We had a few model building sessions together at another departed modeler's home (Dave Dickash)   John was a great friend, modeler, musician and car guy.  My heart goes out to his wife Amy.  John will be missed.

Wow what a blow!! This is like a kick in the stomach as I saw this thread on my phone heading back from Toledo very early this morning. I just saw John and Amy at this past NNL East and we had a very good conversation. It was the first time I had seen him since '08, and we had some stories to exchange. I too knew John for about 20 years as he came to the CPMCC club meetings quite a bit back in the mid/late '90's.

My heart goes out to you Amy.............you and John were inseparable. :(:(

So sad to hear this, based on John's postings here he and Amy were looking forward to a new house and getting back to having some fun after dealing with the death of Amy's mom. Never met John, but his postings here seemed to be a of great guy who finally found his dream job, loved his wife and was enjoying cars of all sort (1:1 and scale).

May he rest in peace and may God comfort Amy in these difficult times.

Oh, no.  I'm so sorry to hear this.  I never got the chance to meet John in person, but he always seemed like a truly decent guy in my interactions with him here.  My sincerest condolences to his family.
