SlotDaddy1963 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) Well I'm getting close to calling it done... Edited November 25, 2015 by SlotDaddy1963 wrong picture order
Aaronw Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 That is neat. I've got a trailer mounted generator at work, obviously a little bit of difference between a welder and a generator but you got the look right. What did you use for the cables? They are very convincing.
Chuck Most Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I love it. Reminds me of the old Hobart units with Willys Go Devil powerplants.
mikemodeler Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 That is very convincing and realistic. Nice details and weathering.
vincen47 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 That is really a unique and cool project. Great weathering.

oldcarfan Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Just amazing. Good build and the weathering looks just right too!

426-Hemi Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 That turned out GREAT!!!! What did you use for the welder lines?
mustang1989 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) Wowhowhowhowowww! Boy did I miss this one! Great work Chuck!!! Edited November 26, 2015 by mustang1989
misterNNL Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Did you happen to take any in progress photos along the way?Great project with very realistic paint and details.
426-Hemi Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I have GOT to ask.. what was the size "C" channel you used for the frame? I'm going to be doing something similar and would like a little guidance on the frame and how you went about doing it.....NOT the frame that is below the welder but the trailer frame is what I'm seeking here.....As I'm building a different trailer then to haul a welder, BUT something else. HOWEVER on top of that I'll be building a welder too for a whole other build to affix it to a Utility bed!
SlotDaddy1963 Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 Thanks for all the positive comments, guys To answer the questions I saw... The welding cables are a tiny resin-core solder that I've had so long I don't remember what kind or size it is... or where I got it. The C-channel for the frame and the trailer are actually modified H-column beams. I used this just because I had it on hand and for the added depth over ordinary channel. If I have any left on the workbench, I'll update this later with the sizes Thanks again for the feedback Chuck
Edward Gore Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Very resourceful building. Realistic paint and weathering too
