Hi everyone...  I was wondering what kits,etc. did you have once you wish you could get a hold of again...?  It can be kits,promos,toys,etc...Whats yours..?

Mine are these...

Monogram(Un-Real Roller),(Mean Maverick funny car),(Ghost of the Red Barron skull figure).

Monogram 1/8th Trans Am.

MPC 75 Firebird promo/kit.

MPC 71-76 Dodge van kits.

Normatt Winnebago motor home promo toy kit.

AMT 70 Ford LTD 4door HT promo kit.

AMT 71/72 Pontiac Sprint II.

MPC 70s Grand Prix custom kit called(Super Fly). 

Barris custom Dodge van called(Super Van).

Just about everything else I've wanted I've gotten through reissues, new kits, or eBay. Or I still have my original from back in the day.

I have way too much stuff.  I'd have to do inventory (a daunting task) to figure out where the holes are in my annual collection. Of those old '60s kits I have mostly old restorable built up versus mint in the box kits. I know if I pulled everything out, I would find I have duplicates of some and none of other years. And as far as annual runs, I'm happy to have a more detailed later kit of a car than the original year issue anyway.  As long as I have a car to represent the year, I'm good.

I've managed to collect all the kits I destroyed as a kid.  The toughest one was the Tijuana Taxi that I pieced together from parts from three different sources.  And then they go reissue it!  Go figger!

My last big Holy Grail was the 1966 Valiant Signet promo, but I managed to snag one of those a few years ago.  So I'm a happy guy.

I've found the "milestone" stuff from the past, and also things I saw back then but couldn't talk my parents into buying!  First kit I remember building myself (Premier Valiant; called a "1963" on the box, but was still the '60-'62 body style), first AMT kit I remember ('62 Falcon; this would have been in '66, maybe '67).  Too, a lot of the late Sixties AMT reissues that I only saw on store shelves once (if that), the Surf Wagon '65 Chevelle that I bought the day before Christmas one year even though everyone was telling me I'd probably get other model car kits for Christmas.  And, no, I didn't get another Surf Wagon the next day, and I never saw that one in the stores again either...

I forgot the IMC VW. I have one, 90% build, still in original box, but I'd love to be able to buy two or three more.

The OP only said kits you HAD, not ones you wanted. There are many IMC kits I'd like to have now that I never had then.

Oh, I thought of another one: Aurora Super Spy Aston-Martin DB5.

Hmm, think I would like back the Esci Toyota Kenia Safari kit. Ebay gave me the chance to buy back all the others, but that one always goes for more then I'm willing to pay for....

I had wished for many years that I could have had many of the old annual kits from the 50s & 60s.

Being born in '62, I missed out on the kits from that era.

Say what you will about ebay, they've fulfilled many dreams for me in the past few years.

Kits that I thought I would never see again are now a reality for me.

I've since purchased, & in many cases built, the majority of my "holy grail" kits.

These are great times if you're looking for an obsolete kit that you've always wanted.

They're out there, you just have to be willing & able to pay for them.

The 1980 'Fuzz Duster' Volare is ready to be reissued some-time this year .

The 1971 Demon 340 is done for ( ) . The 1975-1976 Dart Sport was supposed to be back-dated to the '71 Demon , but "some-thing" happened ... Lord only knows what exactly ...

I've managed to get some. The 75 Firebird Formula, the Manx Dune Buggy and the 76 Datsun Truck and most of the ones that have been reissued in the last few years. I still want to find most of the 70s era MPC annuals, especially the Pintos and Vegas. If MPC/AMT were to reissue the old annuals, I would be sure to pick up all of them.

I did have them....along with the J-car and Chapparal. Unfortunately  they are long gone

Same here. I had this, the Dobberton Pontiac, the pro street Beretta, and several more similar kits that I sold in the 90s because I needed the cash.

Did the old "slap and wrap" when I had it then. Now I guess you could call it my holy grail kit. Just not willing to pay the prices people want for them.
