Reading the flier above it sounds like they are old kits found, and will only be at the two events mentioned. Darn. I'd love to see those old JoHan kits come back. I need, well okay want, the '69 AMX. $27 sounds like a fair price.

Yeah he comes to a lot of local shows. Sounds like he's got more stuff coming out again which is cool. Wouldn't mind having another '69 AMX to go with my other 2

Me too. I've built a nice Super Stocker but I'd like to build a stocker if possible. Have another Shirley Shahan kit in the stash I was gonna de-convert but would be great to have stocker to start with, even if curbside/promo style.

I'd grab another SC/Rambler/American, too, if they were available. Can we even dream of the '70 Machine?

Okey lives around here, so I always see him at local shows. Plus I know guys that see him weekly. I'll have to see if I can dip in on what he's got before he sells out :D

It reads to me like a mix of N.O.S. part and kits, as well as some reintroduced (the photoetched fret for the AMX, maybe some of the bumpers?) parts which were JOHAN (not JO-HAN) specific items. The addition of BMCP and Accucast (hmmm, don't recall much about that company.) only adds to the confusion, but I'm sure it will all come out in the next few weeks.

I'm fairly confident Moebius has the actual molds (or access to) for the former JO-HAN kits they mentioned a few years ago, as Illinois Model Company (IMC) went through considerable expense in an attempt to bring at least one of them back, and the '59 Rambler was shown as a pending release within the last 12 months.

If Moebius does have them, I wish they would start doing something with them. Like the old kits Round 2 keeps reissuing, I'd like to see someone do the same with Jo-Han. Many of the old AMT, MPC, and others, Round 2 has reissued, I could not afford at the time. The same with many of the old Jo-Hans. I have a few. But, there are a lot more I'm interested in. And now I have more disposable income, so I could afford them.

I hope the rumor that Moebuis has several of the old Jo-Han tools is more than just a rumor. I'll spend the money Moebuis if you bring back the kits.

I think that there is a possibility that we may see a few of the old promo style kits that were re-issued back when X-EL did them, but that's about it.

You're never going to see the likes of a '65 Plymouth Fury, a '66 Chrysler 300 or a '67 Toronado again.

Those kits are long gone.

My guess is that even the old "USA Oldies" molds are dead & buried.

Don't get your hopes up.

I still have an X-EL catalog from back in the day.

I'll bet even a lot of them will never return.

Is it true that most of the Johan tool or molds was sold for scrap?

That's what I've heard.

I've also heard the story that a lot of the molds were stolen by disgruntled employees who were not being paid towards the end.

The molds for most of their kits have been scattered to the wind, most likely never to be seen again.
