Ace-Garageguy Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 That's a lot of effort to expend just to take a good looking old car and turn it into a steaming pile of excrement.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 This angle is probably the least offensive, but really...yuck. Just yuck. ...and stand by by for the "don't judge, every taste (no matter how awful) matters, he's just having fun" barrage.
Rob Hall Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Maybe the builder was blind or mentally ill...it's a pretty disgusting mess.
BrianC Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I guess someone wanted to see what all those old AMT custom parts looked like full size !
Xingu Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I guess someone wanted to see what all those old AMT custom parts looked like full size !This guy nailed it!!
Dodge Driver Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Forget the tools! Keep him away from the hallucinogens!
GT4494 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) This is what would be called in the 60s a design exercise. the big 3 did some that makes this look mainstream! Edited January 21, 2017 by GT4494
Mark Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 That's what happens when you are working in a narrow driveway, and can't back up ten feet to get a view of the whole thing...
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Really, the builder of this hideous mess seems to have done pretty fair quality work. It's just the design sense that's totally and completely lacking. See...not everybody who can MAKE a part has the eye and judgement to make a PRETTY part.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 That's what happens when you are working in a narrow driveway, and can't back up ten feet to get a view of the whole thing...In the dark.
Pete J. Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Kind of looks like a lego version of a Superbird/Daytona. What I can see is the grandson saying, "Look what I built grandpa!"
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Same guy donates his time free as an amateur aerospace engineer...
Chuck Most Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 If you start with an ugly car, does it really matter if it's made uglier? I'm surprised that there's some evidence of restraint being exercised on this thing- pale beige paint job? On a design this insane?Call me when this guy gets his hands on something like a first-gen Riv or a '66-'67 Connie and maybe I'll get a little more worked up.
keyser Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 My eyeballs are steaming. Not the only thing that's steaming
espo Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Just because he could doesn't mean he should. That was not one of Dodges best designs, but there is no question that it looked better before than after.
