mike s Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Bantam Speedster. It was built as a challenge to see what I could do with a bantam body. Painted testors fury orange. I used parts from various kits to build this car. Sometimes you just gotta be different.
MeatMan Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 That's sweet! The wheels are perfect for it, and the paint is awesome!I've been wanting to do a little two-seater like that myself but never saw a body I liked.
D. Battista Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Very well done and unique!!I agree.....! Nice job !
Snake45 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Very nice! Great concept, great execution, great paint, what's not to like? Well done and model on!
crazyjim Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Fantastic!!! I have a couple of those bodies laying around.
Bernard Kron Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) Nice kit bashing exercise. I had fun Dick-Tracy-ing the parts used. What really caught my eye and in the end stumped me is the Auburn-style engine turned dash panel. Also, the Halibrand Kidney Bean wheels, which I suspect are from the new/soon-to-return Revell '30 coupe (front used on the rears as well?), but I'm not sure. The matte finish centers are especially nice. How were they done? A cool little project, indeed. Edited July 10, 2017 by Bernard Kron

'70 Grande Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Great build; a creative use of parts that come=together very, very well! Where did you source those wheels from?
misterNNL Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 This is very cool.Great use for a kit never intended to be built as anything other that a drag car. Thanks for sharing.
Spex84 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Sweet! Very creative use of parts. That little rod would go like crazy were it real. Nice work on the paintjob too!I like the cast-finish centers on the wheels; I'm hoping to do the same on an upcoming project so I'd be curious to know how you tackled that.Looks like the mufflers/side pipes are from the Lindberg '34 roadster pickup kit?Like Bernard, I'm curious about the source for that cool turned dash panel.I don't know much about Bantam kits--is the grille scratchbuilt? It looks good, quite unique. I could see a similar (but slightly taller) grille looking tough on a '34 or '36 Ford.
