Ace-Garageguy Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Beautiful model. Your use of colors, textures and varying levels of gloss reminds me of Harry Pristovnik's work...high praise indeed. Welcome.
Dodge Driver Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Add my compliments to the chorus of well-deserved accolades. It's a pleasure to view your magnificent Studebaker.
Classicgas Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 That to me has got to be the nicest one of these I've seen! This kit is not for the faint of heart to get right...........and it certainly takes some patience to get that stance correct which you've done to a T! I have to ask though............don't the square bezels around the headlights make that a '64? No matter though------it's gorgeous either which way! Bill, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe there were some late 63's that had them.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 That is the very best Avanti I ever saw. Probably with a better fit and finish than the real deal.
Monty Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) Outstanding work! Hope to see more from you soon. Edited October 4, 2017 by Monty
Ron Hamilton Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 Welcome to the board!!!! I am in awe of your work on this model. Excellent !!!!
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I have no love for the Avanti.I think it's one of the ugliest cars ever produced. But I know a great build when I see one.Nice work Mikhail !! Steve
Vietnam Vet67 Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Even the throttle return spring is there................amazing.
cobraman Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Without question the best built example of this model I have ever seen.
#1 model citizen Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I can't add anything more than what's already been said, except to say DITTO!
Dave Darby Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Supposedly, the square headlights were an option in the original AMT kit and inspired Studebaker to update the 64s accordingly. Can't vouch for that being true but wow what a gorgeous build and beautiful photography. Very very niceAnd yes the square lights make it a 64.
Silent123 Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Once more many thanks for all of you guys for the highest evaluation of my work. Of course you are right about headlights shape but let me reveal the secret. I started with round headlights and I'm convinced that they look more attractive but unfortunately I damaged one of them and decided to replace with square. For information see additional pictures
smhardesty Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Mikhail,A good friend of mine, who is NOT a modeler was just here. I showed him your Avanti and he was totally amazed at how detailed and great looking the car is. The detail of the interior and engine compartment really blew him away. So even guys not familiar with the hobby appreciate your work.
Watertown Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Gorgeous!! Especially love the interior/exterior color combination. Very nice!
bbowser Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Extremely well done replica. Thank you for sharing. Those headlights are amazing by the way.
Dragline Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 That is seriously gorgeous. I may steal that color for mine.
Bernard Kron Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Ah, the Zen of factory stock expressed at the highest level. It's always a thrill to see replica modeling done to this level. Brilliantly, and thoughtfully, done. Handsome color choice, lovely stance and just-right textures combined with a subtle realism - that's how it's done. Welcome to the board!
