Dragonhawk1066 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Finally finished it. First kit after 22 years away from the hobby. Done in Testors Arctic Blue Metallic enamel spray can. Most detail I have ever done on a model including first time bare metal foil and plug wires.
tmb727 Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 My favorite year Chevelle - even if it did have one of the goofiest tach placements ever, as your work accurately shows. Pretty nice work after 22 years!
shoopdog Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Very nice, your foil work and color choice are top notch.
TooOld Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Beautiful job ! Welcome back to the hobby and I look forward to seeing more .
Belugawrx Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 That was one of my first "getting back into it" builds too! Nice job, welcome back?
MrObsessive Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 For not having built a thing in 22 years, I'd say you haven't missed a beat! VERY clean build, and looks terrific! Yeah, I wonder who in the GM board room thought that was a good idea to put the tach essentially on the floor?? Who looks down at the tach?? Oh well, at LEAST it was available though, I can almost bet that also served as the placement for a clock that more than a few had than the tach.
espo Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 After 22 years you haven't missed a beat when it comes to building. Great fit and finish thru out. The afore mentioned Tach would be mounted too the left of the Dash, and it looks like that's what you did here, and easier to read than the '66 models that were mounted to the right of the Steering Colum and low on the Dash. The Floor Console would contain a Clock, with a Bench Seat they would mount a small Clock on the top center of the Dash.
NYLIBUD Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Very nice job.66,and 67,are my favorite years for Chevelles.
drodg Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 Nice job. Had you used bare metal foil before this kit?
