Very nice Ferrari, Dann - I appreciate the non-red color - the older Ferraris look great in different colors! ( whereas the new models are  almost always pictured in red on the kit boxes!)

Thanks, Helmut!, red is NOT my favorite kolor, I purposely avoid using it whenever I can!!…..Fujimis red boxes, with the red Ferraris is WAAAAAAAAY too much for me.

Hey, believe it or not, I really like this!  I see you did something with the mirrors, are you adding what is used for glitter for the reflective lens?  You detailed the engine nicely with wiring, and did you add the battery?  The kit's seats are horrible, nice choice.  I also had to replace the hood hinge, but used piano wire.  I did a few other things, like use Replicas & Miniatures seats and door panels.  As always, you did a fabulous job on the paint job.

I have a Road & Track poster of a Montery Historics when Ferrari was featured.  There is a CA that's dark grey, seems to be at every Ferrari event.  I also know one crossed the auction block for an astronomical price, and it is black.

Thanks, Kurt!!, if this kit wasn't so hard to find, and expensive, I would build it over, and over again!!  The mirror lenses are chrome stickers from a huge roll that I got in the RC department of a hobby shop, Yes I added the battery, but I also SB; the upper engine braces, coils, coolant, brake, and washer bottles with racks. The carbs weren't real enough for me either, So I SB those as well. Thanks again!.....I will check yours out...….you should just post it for everyone to enjoy!...not enough of these get built and shared.

I thought it was internationally illegal to paint a Ferrari in any other color besides red!

Apparently not!  This picture was taken by a friend's son, who worked for Ferrari at Pebble Beach this year.  I searched for a public picture recently, did not see this car, with a gorgeous teal paint.  Almost makes me want to break open the sealed kit and built another one.

Mister, that is some crisp detail you've got on that car!!  Blown away!!!! What technique did you use to get the finish on those seats? Those have just the right look to them.

Thanks, Joe!, all I did to the seats was cut the headrests off, primer them with filler primer...black primer...then universal flat black paint.

A lot of people don't like Italeri, or Testors-Italeri, but apart from slightly brittle plastic, and a million ejection pin marks, they have some great details and textures! I would build one any day over an AMT, REVELL, Monogram, or Lindberg!

Great result, Dann! The color and finish are nothing short of beautiful.

Personally, I would have gone for a dark metallic blue for my own build (yet to come, one day...) but yours is looking VEEERY nice, too...

Regarding the Italeri kit, I must however say that to my knowledge this one is identical to the Revell kit that I own myself. ;)

Speaking of Italeri... I don't know how it is in the USA, but in Germany/ Europe new car model kit releases by Italeri nowadays mostly are just re-releases of old Protar (best case) or Esci (worst case) kits. Some current examples being the Lancia Stratos, Lancia Delta Integrale, Ford Escort Mk. 2, Lamborghini Miura (the Esci one with the awful truck-like doors...).

Looking forward however to the upcoming (re-)release of the Alfa Romeo 1600 Giulia Spider (originally be Protar).
