Khils Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) Very nice color choice Sir! Oh! BTW.......I thought I was the only one "still " using the bent coat hanger for painting. Edited January 4, 2019 by Khils

I’d love to get my hands on a 67, but a bit too pricey for me right now. Even IF I could find one. I’ve always used the AMT Starliner engine, or the parts from it I might need. It has the best looking fuel components, IMHO. That air cleaner looks similar to the AMT 66 Fairlane 427. I’ll definitely be following this one. Sometimes you can find a distressed promo for a good deal. turn it into a kit.

Can-Con Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 (edited) Cool. That's the same color my father's '67 Meteor Rideau was. Edited January 5, 2019 by Can-Con
gman Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 That color looks very "right" on this body. Looking forward to watching this build come together- great work.
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 Today, I cleaned the paint from the scripts, sanded the trim between the top and body and did a little more foiling and detailing. I foiled the trunk badge and the center of the side trim so that I could do a little paint detailing before clear coat. the rest of the side trim will be foiled when the paint work is completely finished. Steve
mod3l Lover Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 This is looking so incredible Steve!! I love that color too!!!
Bucky Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 That color JUMPS!!!! Emblems and chrome are expertly applied, too!!
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 Put together my color combination for the interior today. Still need to finish up a few small things and then I'll be ready to start air brushing. The medium green on the left will be for the lower half of the dash & the steering wheel. Darker green in the middle will be the dash pad and inserts in the seats and door panels. The light "gold green" on the right will be the overall upholstery color on the seats, console & door panels. Steve
kelson Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 The chrome on the emblems is nice and clean!,the interior color combo should look killer a well!.
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 10, 2019 Author Posted January 10, 2019 Started adding a little color to the interior today. Decided on a color change for the darkest color of the three. I just wasn't seeing enough contrast between the darker and medium green so I pulled out an old can of Duplicolor touch-up paint and shot the dash pad, interior tub and inserts in the door panels and seats a dark green. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 I believe that the color is on all of the interior components except for the arm rests. The overall color is actually a very light green/gold, although it looks very gold in the photos. There is just a touch of green. Steve
drodg Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Great job and loving the progress. I love the interior and the colors.
espo Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Great looking interior. The sort of Gold color was most often seen on the Green cars painted this color.
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Thanks guys! Just finished the 5th coat of clear tonight. Looking good, but I may do a little light sanding to remove a few small dust specks and add one more coat before beginning the polishing process. Please excuse the blurry pics. I obviously still need to work on my photography skills! Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Had to do a quick mock up of the interior to be certain that everything would still go together well and I'm glad that I did! One of the door panels had distorted considerably. I assume from all of the cutting, scribing & reshaping. It had become far too flat. To the point that the rear seat would not fit & there was a large gap between the top of the door and the interior panel. It was not terribly difficult to rectify. A little heat and bending restored the slight bow that it required. Looks like it should go together as expected now. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 Took me a good portion of the day just to detail the dash board! Gauge face is incorrect, but it's the closest decal that I could get for a '67 Ford. It's a "Best Model Car Parts" decal for a '65 Ford. Steve

X2 Steve.... a terrific choice topic for a build, and love the extra effort you are putting into the interior. And the exterior badging work is, well to my mind at least, simply exceptional. Good luck wrapping this project....TIM Edited January 12, 2019 by tim boyd
Ramfins59 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Steve, this model is just phenomenal... I'm loving it. My first car was a '67 Galaxie 4 door, in Champagne Gold with a black top and an all black interior.
kelson Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Amazing work!!,I have a few 67's + 68's in my stash that i'll use this thread as reference to enhance my builds
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 14, 2019 Author Posted January 14, 2019 Still working on detailing the interior. Managed to get one of the door panels & the console as well as the arm rests detailed today. Steve
