Dave B Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Just a couple of group pics of my Chaparrals. They are, front to back, left to right: LS 2C; Monogram 2D, considerably modified and with resin wheels/tyres; Fujimi 2D; Fisher 2F; Slush resin 2H, body and wheels & tyres are based on Mini Exotics and the rest is scratch built; scratch built 2J, courtesy of plans from Model Racing Replica News, miss that mag!; and Accurate Miniatures GS Vette but with correct bonnet (lower bulge and no vents). I also have the Cox 2, 2D and mag frame 2E but as these are slot cars have not included them. Tks for looking Dave B
89AKurt Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Really nice collection! I'm focused on the 2J Sucker Car, just because I have a Mini Exotics (r&d unique) kit that I got last century. I've heard about that magazine having plans to make it. It is such a basic shape, can see someone skilled as you doing it.
Gramps46 Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) Very impressive collection!!! You list a Fujimi 2D which I am not familiar with. Could that be a Modelers 2D? All issues of MRRN are available on a CD from the editor Mike Quarterman at modellwerke@gmail.com Edited April 12, 2019 by Gramps46
Jim N Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 I like all of them, but the Chaparrals are drop dead gorgeous!
Scalper Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Nice collection . great work .Chaparrals are so cool
'70 Grande Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Beautiful collection! I'm certain that I'm not alone when I say you now need to make 7 new posts; each as a detailed presentation with pics of each of these great builds as they all deserve their own post!

Agree 100% and that's coming from two Mustang guys.
Phildaupho Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 This is the best collection of Chaparral cars I have seen since the 2005 Monterey Historics. Add my vote for separate posts for each model.
DPNM Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 This is a fantastic collection. Chaparral's are my favorite race cars, the 2D and 2F in particular. Jim Hall was so instrumental in race car design, far ahead of his time. The GS is very nice also. You did a great job in representing each one. I, too, would like to see posts on each car individually.
Vietnam Vet67 Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Saw the "Sucker" car race back in the day. Awesome stuff!!
ismaelg Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 A truly impressive collection for sure! All are great in their own right!

I have the disc, it's a pity one of the current model magazines couldn't do some articles in a similar vein as those that were in MRRN. Regards Dave B
bbowser Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Great collection. I'm partial to the 2C, before the aero stuff got too wild. Add my vote for separate posts.
1959scudetto Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Great collection, Dave ! I really like Chaparrals, especially the 2 D ('66 Nürburgring winner) and the 2 F ('67 Brands Hatch winner) - I have your front row in my stash and several books on Chaparrals at home. I agree with the others here: make individual posts for the models - we would like to see more and larger pics of each!
jokar124 Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Greetings gents! I too agree with all the comments above, but I also think we need to see those Cox slot cars ! How about it, Dave? Some of us here are also racers!
Hooked on Chaparral Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Man I guess i haven't been here in awhile. Beautiful work on these, you can always tell when someone truly feels the passion for these cars,Thank You for sharing.
