DumpyDan Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I started with a AMT 53 ford kit and a photo for inspiration. I only took 3 pictures during the build the rest are finished kit. I started by cutting the roof but it is a little trickier then you might think. I scratch built the front and rear racks, the ladder is just sheet plastic, tools and junk are extra stuff and crumpled up leaves from the yard. The driver is from a kit that had some Gangsters in it and a little surgery to him also turn his fedora "hat from the 30's" into a baseball cap. I didn't know how to make mud, so I looked up on Youtube and some guy use Hot Choc mix and white glue but I didn't have any but I did have Instant Pudding. This worked pretty good you will see on the model. The hard part was to make the dirt on the body, I use dull coat and blew dust from an old vacuum bag and just let it land on the body and wheels. Thanks for looking everyone.
Rusty92 Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Wow, that is terrific! Never knew such a thing existed. I like the weathering!
espo Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I love it. I remember as a child the local lumber yard had just such a truck they would use for small deliveries. You really captured the look with this build, very creative idea.
