BeakDoc Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Built from the AMT “Prestige” kit. I 86ed the pizza cutters for some Pegasus wheels/tires and added a little wiring and plumbing under the hood. Other than that she’s box stock. Interior is Rust-Oleum ultra matte Deep Teal. Body is Tamiya AS-5 Luftwaffe Light Blue, Tamiya Pearl clear and several coats of Testors Wet Look clear. As always, comments, pointers and questions always welcome. Thanks for looking.
Plowboy Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Nice looking Galaxie! My only suggestion would be to switch the front wheels to the 19" Hellas.
zakdoggi Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 A beautiful, well-executed build of one of my favourite cars. With that color and those wheels, it has "the look". ?❤️

I thought the same thing. I even mocked it up w/ 19s on the front, but it just didn’t look right to me. Left way too much empty wheel well around it. I wish Pegasus made 22s and 20s instead of 19s and 23s. Tyler, Ray, Jon, Larry, Larry and Geoff, thanks for the kind words, fellas.
Wm David Green Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Fantastic Ford, great color choice. Those Pegasus wheels look great. Modern wheels don't always work with older cars, but when they do, they rock.
Modlbldr Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 That is a beautiful build. The color is just right for it. Love it! Later-
espo Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Nice clean looking build. I like the somewhat subdued colors, good cruiser look.
Classicgas Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Very nice! Usually I don't like wheels like that but this time I do.
MarvinGardens Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 Given the color of the car body, it's an opinion o' mine that the wheel centers would have been killer in Dark Charcoal. As it is, you've got a good lookin' Ford there!
Peter Lombardo Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Great looking car..... I just love the old 62, 63 64 and 65 big Ford's and Chevy's. Really nicely done and very clean.... I love the look of the stock built car in the muted color with sharp after market wheels, very period correct.
