Howard Cohen Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Last week I stopped in to visit a local car museum. They had a few magazines and I bought some old 'Car Model' mags from 1967/8/9/70/71 era. I was going through them when I turned the page and saw the ad for the 'International Car Model Association' membership...with my name and address filled in! Yes, I bought back my magazine from 50 years ago! This time I am keeping it
Dave Ambrose Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 That is amazing and too cool for words.
tbill Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 That is cool, glad you are reunited with your magazine.
misterNNL Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 My ICMA membership number was 11. I still have all of my correspondence from them and the decal is on my wooden model box. Nice to finally know someone else who was a member.
alan barton Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 I would love to have seen the look on your face when you opened that page..........

(The number would assume another significance in the mid-'70s, but of that we will not speak more. ) I still have my decal on my metal parts bin with the little plastic drawers. (I still occasionally take some 50-yo parts out of that thing and USE them on a model to this day!)

I have several of those boxes and even though I have sorted through them umpteen dozen times I still find usable stuff." Waste not-want not" my mom would have said.
Modlbldr Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Now that gave me a laugh. How often does something like that happen? Glad you found it. Later-

landman Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Nice story and nostalgia. That kind of story brings happiness and a big smile.
tim boyd Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Howard......that is too cool! The chances of that happening are what....1 in a million (or higher???) As far is the ICMA, I recall my membership number being 5053.....TIM
