Rob Hall Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 'Silver Thunderbird' by Marc Cohn. I've read the car in the song was a reference to his father who drove a Thunderbird. The video though, oddly features a C1 Corvette.
sfhess Posted November 4, 2019 Posted November 4, 2019 I don't know if anyone has mentioned it (I haven't been following this thread) but there is an exhibit of car- and racing-related LPs at the NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, CA. If you look at photos of the Spirit of Speed show from yesterday you might see some of them in the background.

Shame on ya! Come to think of it, I don't think anyone's mentioned "80s Mercedes" by Maren Morris yet. A MUCH better Mercedes song than Janis Joplin's. That's right, I said it!

Straightliner59 Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 I was going to mention Springsteen, but, that's not even fair! I mean, has he written any songs that don't mention a car?! ?
