Straightliner59 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 I used some nail resin to cast a set of Supertrick/Centerline wheels for my '63 Chevy II wagon L/Stocker for the upcoming 24 Hr. build. I will probably cast a few quickies, just to try out finishing methods on the resin. The edge of the rims are so fine that it takes some effort to get the resin to completely fill them.

A bit more reading the article and some more colour detailing if needed, tomorrow. Edited January 25, 2022 by PatW 1
RSchnell Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Got some of the stash organized, these are mostly kits I've picked up at the last few swap meets and shows.
cobraman Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Today I was able to fit the vacuum form rear window in the resin Ferrari I'm working on.
Cool Hand Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 50 Ford parts prep and ready for 1500 grey surfacer.
Cool Hand Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Surfacer applied to 50 Ford F-1 parts. And surfacer applied to a few more bodies. 6 bodies done in one session.
steveracer Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 What two types of surfacer are u using, and reasons for the dark gray?

Mr Hobby from the jars thinned with levelling thinner 1:1.5. Airbrushed with a Iwata HP-TH .5 @ 18-20 psi Use the black surfacer as first initial check coat on the body to find flaws and also used as dark base mainly for my black paint jobs. The Gray is used for light colours. The 50 Ford F-1 will be painted Tamiya TS-24 purple. 1
Mattilacken Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Got some spoons painted. Will be black base coat for the bmw I think and gray for the r34. The r34 chassi already saw some overspray. white left, gray, gray, and two different blacks to the right.
cobraman Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Managed to finish up the Revell Ford F 150 Lightning I was working on. Things did not go well. ?
OldNYJim Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I’ve had an idea for a frame for a 34 Ford truck in my head for a while…sketched it out this evening before dinner to see how it would translate. I’m doing technical drawings and renderings all day long, so it’s nice to work in pencil and paper now and then. And then, after dinner, I drew it on the computer ? 1
Pete J. Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Probably not what anyone would expect, but getting the cargo ready for my Peking to Paris 2CV Citroen. Parts boxes, cases of oil, sleeping bags and tarps. 3

cobraman Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I don't know Carl, fit was good but after a couple of screw ups ( my fault ) I just rushed to get it done and that never goes well. I will say I did have trouble installing the ground effects pieces to the body.
OldNYJim Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Printed my first frame! Haven’t nailed the settings yet (or the technique, or even actually the final design) but I’m having a blast playing with this stuff: No build thread yet, because I’m still learning a bunch of stuff before I really dig into it, but it’ll be a 34 Truck with a Roth Mysterion-inspired frame underneath. I actually started a version of this last year but I wasn’t happy with it… Oh, and my wife likes that Doctor Who show so I printed a tiny Tardis for her, seeing as she’s being pretty cool about me spending 8-10 hours playing with my new toy the last couple of days…
Mattilacken Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Got the skirts and bumper some what to fit. They have been damaged and glued on with little care 15-20 years ago so I did my best to make it look decent. Still need to scripe the panel gaps better since some almost got flush when I had to use CA and baking soda to fill the hideous gaps. Need to buy an other kit in the future and make redemption. Worst gap is now the hood to bumper where there is no gap! Have prepped some other parts for it as well. O and I want to make this one so I have a GTR next to my two Supras.
Tabbysdaddy Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I finally worked on something, a little. I cleaned up the hood from the 70 GTO super stocker to see how it fits on the 72. Pretty good fit, except it has a little warp. I want to open up the headlights before I cut the nose off. And I had to get a picture with the Lemans.
PatW Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Tamiya Lotus 7 MK2, nearly finished wheels and nose cone on. A spot of yellow gloss on the nearest headlight, and wait to dry before windscreen, wipers and possible number plates.
