Finished the '53 Ford Truck right on schedule, Tuesday evening. Yesterday started number 3 re-do, the 1956 Del Ray. Should be a weekend completion. Have actually 3 others I may redo, namely my '63 Nova Wagon, '66 Wildcat, and '77 Pinto as I know they're cool cars but the way I built them was still in the "learning" zone; the Nova and Pinto having been brush painted.

You should keep your brush painted builds as is , down the road a person always wishes they had their earlier built models.   My suggestion, pick up the same kits and build them with your improved knowledge and skills.

I completed two four day mini builds this week. One is the Aoshima 1/24th Suzuki Carry food truck, done a different way. I painted it a year ago and forgot about it in the box. The Suzuki is now a tiny Overlander with a custom trailer, and the Abarth is a Euro style beater with 1/32nd Welly Alfa Romeo wheels and tires. The 1/32nd wheels work out to about 13 inches in 1/24th scale.SuzukiOverlandRFront.jpg.97527549c4d8b01ce08ad7734f8061f3.jpg

The other is a Fujimi Abarth A112, also 1/24th.

The other 3 are maybe re-do's; may or may not happen. The Nova and Pinto are more of the transition models, rather than first builds, as I started building in February of 2021, and these two were done late in 2022; the Nova being built in one day start to finish since it was December 31st 2022, also known as 2023 new years eve, so I was able to "burn the midnight oil" with that one. Kits around here are pretty hard to come by; even supplies and paint is hard to find in town, so because it may be a long while before I can get a new kit, I figured why not just rebuild some that I wasn't really satisfied with. So far the two I rebuilt already, left me very pleased with the new outcomes.

One of two trucks, I have been lying on the couch or sitting at the table almost motionless with my legs in a cast for more than two months  Building has gone well but painting with all that entails will probably take another month. Building one and even two trucks has been challenging and educational, the day I go to a show I will look at the trucks with a completely different level of respect.

I was doing work on my mb but noticed things that irritated me as well as I managed to loose my trottle linkage that I made so I boxed the mb.

So while I was watching the first F1 race for the season this morning  and seeing the Aston Martin pace car roaring past several times, thanks to rain and drivers putting a tire on the white slippery lines and spinning of, I got inspired to bring out a rebuilder so I could do a quick over haul and slap it together.
So I brought out the Aston Martin DBS which is one of my absolute favorite cars of al time. Got this from a forum member in a trade. While watching the race I disassembled it and sanded the bodywork. Wheels was gone so I have printed a set of my own wheels and got them painted during the afternoon as well as the interior got some semi gloss clear which made the interior come alive. And then I managed to put a layer of silver first and then a metallic orange on top of that.
looking good I believe.

I found on the shelves..

1.JPG

But needed the chassis etc for something else, so found in the spares some wheels and arches from a McLaren Sportscar kit. so dropped my new chassis to this..

I have a few more things to do, so will finish this week. I'm annoyed that the bonnet was clear plastic and I only have a metallic blue spray at present!  77 tomorrow so out all day!

Finished the rebuild of the '56 Del Ray on Saturday, and on Sunday began working on the FINAL TWO cars I am going to rebuild; no more old ones after these two. My '63 Nova wagon is just shedding its krappy paint job, and my '61 Galaxie is getting an exciting conversion that I don't believe has ever been done before. But that's all I'll say about that.

Shot some clear and no polish so far, might polish the hood at least. And I made some decals for this. My 15 year old Epson does a ok job I believe.  I also dusted on some primer on the GCV.

Been working through printing up this 3D file that is a (somewhat) replica of the 1:24 Revell Hot Shot Midget kit from the 60s:

IMG_5230.jpeg.59c8ced56021c810144c1701dbff9298.jpeg

The file isn’t great - it’s taking a lot of work to get parts close to print-ready (and I had a ‘short shot’ on the print on one corner, hence the little pink repair piece) but I’m pretty pleased with them so far and excited to get the rest of the parts printed so I can start painting them both

Got interior done made some seat brackets out of old floppy discs and I might have installed the seats to high up. But they look way more in scale than the kit piece. Belts are a combo out of kits world belts and Tamiya 3mm tape that I painted.
screwed the body together with the chassis.. getting there..
