Glad it's a new tool and I hope it's followed by the convertible. This may be the most exciting release this year, followed by the MX-5 RF, for me. At least styrene kits. Can't wait for the Alpha Models Aston Martins and new Ferraris. Aoshima also cryptically said on their FB page that they'll produce more exciting models in 2020. Hopefully that means new car kits and not variants of pre-existing ones. I was nonplussed with the Jag. Sorta "Chernobyl", not great, but not terrible. But then I reflected on the fact, that's probably because every model of that Jag has been some 1960s fiddly mess of ya know to assemble. I'm willing to give 2020 Revell a shot at it and see what they come up with this Fall. I did notice Aoshima had no mention of the Pagani Zonda which they first teased there last year and showed 3D CAD drawings of in October...I'm not sure how many more of those Toyota Taxis they can release as they're up to 4 next month. They extensively plumbed the old tooling for the past 18 months and the past 2-3 months 99% of pre-orders have been nothing but reissues of those 18 months of reboxings. So something new has to come along sooner than later. Alpha's McLaren 720 should be out in March along with a Ferrari Pista. Edited January 31, 2020 by niteowl7710
jaymcminn Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 The E-Type is one of those cars that has had many models released of it and none of them have ever seemed "right" with the exception of the original Monogram 1/8 scale. If the new RoG tool is as good as it looks here I will buy every variant they care to release.

Mike999 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Whoa! Somebody's doing a Mercedes 600 "Pullman" 6-door limo in full Dictator Spec! Anybody have any other info on this thing? I've wanted a model of that monster for years. But depending on the scale, I suspect the price might be close to that of a real one. Wonder if it includes a set of scale microphones, so Dear Leader can rant at the adoring masses.

I was going to get one of the Heller coupes but I think I'll wait for the ROG kit. BTW, I had a friend in our model club who owns this beautiful XKE. He said the 1/8 kit isn't all as accurate as people think either.
ZTony8 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I can't tell for sure but the test shot of the E Type looks like a 2+2 , not the regular fixed head coupe. Any body know for sure?
Dave Van Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 What are the Mustangs with the Raptors?? 1/18 kits????
afx Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Nice to see the Heller BMW 328 being reissued. I added a few bits and scratch built the headers but this is the engine from the kit.
keyser Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) JC is that AC in here on build thread? The re-issue 328 is the one with truly only half a windscreen. Frame stops just past upright. If you know a caster I'd be glad to send one if he doesn't have one The 328 has working steering, great little kit. Brooklands screens can fix the issue but not in kit. Easy to fab though. Bennyg Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Hopefully the new Jag tool from Revell doesn’t have sinkholes everywhere. Ben

Time to put the ex-Aurora coupe and Revell roadster in the eBay Sell Pile. Or maybe build them as junkers. The coupe as a rusty roadside relic missing its rear suspension (to put under a hot rod). And the roadster as the unlucky Jag in "Vanishing Point."

Any body know for sure? Well, I had a similar uncertainty. I enlarged this one photo that included the interior And then I got a coupe interior shot. I "THINK" they are rendering the lifted section of the trunk floor (that keeps luggage from sliding forward) in the raised position rather than flat.

jaymcminn Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 At first I thought the Jag's windshield looked low in relation to the side windows. I just realized the side glass frames are molded into the windows while the windshield frame is molded into the body. That engine bay detail looks fantastic!
keyser Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 (edited) It is 2 seater, the tombstone shaped seats were only in early E's from 61-64. The squarer seats in your inside photo are from a 65-67 Series 1. 2+2 really ungainly looking. This appears to be a nice rendition of a 61-64 2-seat 3.8L E fixed head coupe. Under hood shots look really nice. Once window trim detailed, it'll be great, I believe. The rear window is a bit elevated, but that is trim, not 2+2 hunchback. The 2+2 didn't appear until the 1966 year. A 2+2 has a chrome strip at base of window, and none ever had the tombstone seats. That tan interior above is a 2 seat later S1 with squarer seats. The squared section is the forward lat section folded up against the silver latch on the wheelwell seen below. There is a cubby underneath is you can see in the beige interior car. Series 1 2+2 with hunched roof and chrome under side DLO. Hard to see, but the kit door glass shorter than the 1/2 glass. On 2+2, the door glass is longer than the quarter glass. The Sebring style mirrors on the test shot are not factory btw, but seen often as period accessory Edited February 3, 2020 by keyser pic
