This ad came up on our forum, the image terrifies me.

What artist thinks this is an inspiring layout? It looks like the mechanics don't know what in the ---- they're doing. And he's happy about it!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

About half of commercials on TV these days, I either can't figger out the story they're trying to tell me, or I can't figger out what the product is. And most of the rest are for insurance, all of which are trying to be funny and none of which tells me anything about the insurance. I recently read that the average Progressive insurance customer is now paying $67 or something a year just for the company's commercials. Maybe that's why my insurance company, which hardly advertises at all, has rates much lower than either Progressive or Geico.

As someone who has done graphic work for 30 years now......you can spot a free clip art MS WORD graphic done by a clerk a mile away...

I have to agree, who ever created this isn't the sharpest crayon in the box. On TV in this area anyway, I think we have more Ambulance Chasers, Home Flippers, and all sorts of woodland creatures telling me to buy their Insurance. I checked around on Home and Auto Insurance this last month when we got the great news about how much more our premiums were going to be and how much less they would cover and saved us even more by raising our deductibles and reducing our coverage on any type of natural disaster. I checked all of the local agents and even some of the 1-800 people. I have come to the conclusion  they just type in your name and address and then quote you a premium with in a $5.99 lunch of one another. The best commercial to me is the Raccoons stealing the garbage truck. Any Raccoon that can spot a half a Cheese Cake in a dark ally in a stolen garbage truck when he's supposed to be looking for the brakes, well I think it's funny anyway.

Just think: one of the institute's graduates might have been working on the jet engine of the airliner you are about to take to fly overseas.

Maybe they should show him working on a plane....

There are flight attendant academies which prepare one for a rewarding and action packed career as a snack cart operator.

There's MUCH more to it than that. You have to know where the exits are, and how to deal with "comfort animals" of all kinds. And also how to mediate petty disputes without having to land the airplane and notify TSA and/or having the airline sued over a reclining seat.

Still, I see the day coming when "flight attendants" are replaced by robotic snack carts equipped with Tazers.

Don't forget the semester learning to say "buh bye" with a smile in your voice, and with enough different inflections so each disembarking passenger hears a special version, just for him.

That class is only available to trainees who qualified for the ASCO (Advanced Snack Car Operator) course. Extra charges may be applicable.

I don't know if they still do it, but GEICO used to give out grants to small-town speed trap police departments so they could upgrade their radar equipment.  More tickets written, higher rates, more money for GEICO.  The big three for me to avoid would be GEICO, Progressive, and Allstate...

I've had State Farm for 25 years, been happy with them.    Progressive is a local employer here in the Cleveland area, have looked into them before as I have a lot of insurance industry software development experience (10+ years)...Allstate also has IT jobs here locally.    May work for one of them eventually..

I was with Allstate the first couple of years that I was driving, mainly because my mom was insured through them, mainly because she hadn't changed since my parents first had a car.  Switched away in 1982, never going back.  As for the other two, I figure all those commercials and billboards have to be paid for somehow, it's either being tacked onto my bill or deducted from a potential payout...

Geico, early on, finally figured out that there is no part of the insurance conversation that isn't dry as a popcorn fart. Everyone knows what insurance is, might as well just brand the name in a fun and memorable way. It connected immediately and all the rest followed suit.

State Farm for 45 years. There is cheaper.....but my agent is a car guy and makes sure I am taken care of. When our house was damaged in a bad storm  they were on site in hours, wrote a check to replace roof and even food lost due to no power.

With all the insurance companies that will save me 3 to 4 hundred dollars a year, I've figured out that if I switch every year, within 3 years, they will be paying me to use their insurance.

Speaking of popcorn, somebody pass me a drink, you guys are funny!!!

This all sounds like a conversation around the card table, like we're all in the same room.

Cheers!

Farm Bureau insurance 35 years.  My father in law has State Farm since he was a teen but he has had 2 claims and had to argue with them. That’s all I know

Farm Bureau is the best, good rates, good service, and no STUPID COMMERCIALS. Almost 30 years for me.

If you can't figure out the ad it is not aimed at you. I should say not aimed at us. Lets face it we are old. LOL

As a geezer, the TV commercials that really yank my chain are the ones promising: "LOT OF FREE STUFF FROM MEDICARE."  Sometimes 2 or 3 of those things run back-to-back.

One features a very whiny and annoying Joe Namath. Another has an unseen carnival barker whose aggressive pitch reminds me of a bad used-car salesman. And for good reason, I bet.

Sometimes I hit the "Pause" button during these spots, just to read the fine print.  Which always tells me NONE of them are associated with the actual govt. program called Medicare.  If that's the case, it should be illegal for them to use the name "Medicare" in their sales pitches. They're just trying to confuse elderly people (like me) and take money from us. Or possibly from the govt.

That fine print also tells me these clowns are nothing but middle-men.  Just like another aggravating bunch of TV commercials, for third-party extended car warranties.  These kind of companies don't offer any products themselves.  They claim to "shop" for a Medicare plan or car warranty and find the best one for their suckers.  Probably from a company owned by their brother-in-law.

Just trying to get some money from the people who need their benefits the most.
