3men2s Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 This is a project I was ask to do for a friend and nostalgia Pro Stock racer Bob Mayerle. Using the re released AMT 55 CHEVY BEL AIR body and the chassie and rest of parts from the Revell 55 Pro Sportsman I was able to make his this replica. Hope you all like.
3men2s Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 Had to make a scratch built roll cage. The Pro Sportsman's cage was to low, remember that the pro car was chopped top.
3men2s Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 The engine was so pulled back that modifiying the front glass was a must.
3men2s Posted March 27, 2020 Author Posted March 27, 2020 To the paint shop. Tamiya spray cans, white, red and clear
Snake45 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Very cool, you did great! Well done and model on!
gonzo64nova Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Nice job! It is very close to the actual 55 you had to recreate.

Brutalform Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 That’s a fantastic 55 build right there, Danny. Very nice detail work. What did you use to fasten the braided line to the moly tubing? Is that electrical tape?
jchrisf Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I love Pro Stocks.. this one looks great. I think those cats think you are making them a toy to play with.
crowe-t Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) This turned out great! Edited February 1, 2022 by crowe-t
bluestringer Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Fantastic build. Looks great. I'm working on the street version of the 55 Bel Air now. I like the painted bumpers, may try that on mine.
