Adecoste Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I just finished up the first model I have built in probably 10 years. Its the 1989 issue Revell 69 corvette with the box misprint that says 429 instead of 427. The quality was pretty poor on some parts on this kit, the chrome is very lite and you can see the red plastic through it in some spots. The tire halves were also misaligned when being formed so they were all out of round. I'm happy with the final result though. Its painted with some old Color Extra spray bomb I found in the basement haha.
Snake45 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 That looks pretty darn nice! In fact, detail out the Rally Wheels and it'll be PERFECT! Model on!
1972coronet Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Gorgeous 'Vette ! Its bright red colour stands-out against that wonderful New Scotland background ? Keep up the great work !
89AKurt Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Very nice job, considering the circumstances! I was wondering about the 429. ?
Gramps46 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Super nice build and the paint really sets if off.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Regardless of the issues, it still looks pretty good!

AmericanMuscleFan Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Very clean build and nice looking Corvette! Great paint job from an old spray can! Well done Adam!!!

kelson Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Good looking build!, I built the same kit a few years ago as a small block, one of Revell's better kits.

SoDak1 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I bet GM suspended Revells liscense after that mistake hahaha. Beautiful vette btw
Monty Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Kudos for some nice work with this kit. I've never heard of Color Extra paint, but it's obviously good stuff. I'll echo Snake45's comment about the wheels: just a touch of argent paint on the wheel surface, some flat black in the slots and a light wash of black in the cap fluting and you'll take a great build up another notch. Based on what you've shown here, I'd love to see more of your work.
espo Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 I think it looks great. As you pointed out the kits quality isn't what we've come to expect in todays kits. This sure turned out nice despite the kits basic problems.
TooOld Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Sharp looking Vette , the paint looks good to me ! I agree a little detail on those wheels would really set it off .
