Revell 67 Coronet 500 2 dr ht..

Saw on another site a post of a nicely done 67 Coronet..I know the hump on the top of the 1/4 panel is too high but noticed the lower part of the belt line looks to be not as deep as the rest of the body..Looks like someone put sheet metal over the rear wheel housings to cover rust..Looks bowed out to me..Never noticed that before..Any one else?

Actually, the whole tail section droops too much making the hump look too high. I corrected one years ago. Had it painted. Didn't like it. Stripped and primered it. Lost interest and haven't touched it since. Everything else is done.

Thats  the biggest issue with the 67 Coronet n kit.

I fixed the quarters on one years ago. It takes some hacking. But, it makes a big improvement. I got it painted. Didn't like it. Stripped it and got it back in primer. But, haven't touched it since. I need to finish it sometime. Everything is done except for the body.

My biggest complaint is for both the Coronet and the '67 GTX. The side window trim on one side is set deeper in the body, while the other side it is set further out flush with the drip rails.

On the 67 Coronet the Hemi emblem is in the wrong place on the body too.

I also have big problems with the execution of the grille, headlamps, the shape of the grille opening and leading edge of the hood. The overall effect is too flat as viewed from the top. The grille almost then seems too flush as a result and from straight on front view, the bottom of the hood that forms the opening is too arched. The headlights are also too large, and too close together

They could make this kit as perfect as humanly possible and you guys would still find something to complain about . It’s a good kit , might not be perfect , but I can’t name any kit at that price point that is ....

Just picked one up for $5.73! Foose wheels and tires going on another project but I will likely build the Coronet - although the grill bugs me.  Dave Kindig customizes one of these but I didn’t like the grill treatment he did either!

I never paid much attention to the grille. I put a photo etch grille in mine. Don't know if it helped it or hurt it. I may have to dig that junk out and finish it. The hold up has been the chassis has over spray in the color I don't want to use on the body.

Does the Plymouth have same issue? Fender seems different. I thought Coronet looked a little off but only game in town.

No. The GTX doesn’t have sagging quarter panels like the Coronet does.

It has sloping quarters also. But, they're supposed to. Plus, there's a big difference in the wheel well openings.

I had a 1:1 67 500 for years and I agree with your comments about the grille, the shape bothers me way more than the qtr panels. I am going to use a Charger grille and build a Mexican market Coronet (they also used the 500 tail lights).

The top of the windshield is too flat...there should be more of an arc to it.

Although I originally asked the question I'am just going to work with sanding sticks and paper to make it look decent..Not skilled enough to replace 1/4 panels..on models or real cars either..I'll work till I'am pleased. Didn't notice the grill but the grill on the GTX looks like it goes in too far on the bottom..Too much of angle..

Something I've noticed on the full scale Coronets is the front bumper/bottom of the grille has a slight downward curve to it. Like it's smiling. Another issue with this kit is the rear bumper fitment at the top corners.

I have mine in paint and cleared. Just have to polish, foil and assemble now.
