1972coronet Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 The pending reissue of the Drag Nut reminds me that it's time to make an appointment with my doctor.

Eeerrrr...go back and check my previous speculation and comment in this thread.....and see if it lines up with this one. Hmmm....check....check....check....I can't say for 100% certain but I would say this is a very astute and likely guess. If so, it will be great, as while it is among the least known drag racing kits of all time it is also without a doubt one of the best rear engine rail dragster kits to have ever sat on a hobby store shelf...TIM

A feature designer Bob Johnson used on the AM McLaren kit years later.

Reegs Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Yeah, probably the Scotty Fenn dog sled digger. And what would make the comp T cost that much?
Zen Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 If the Mongoose dragster comes out again then they really need to do the yellow Snake version also.
Daddyfink Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 5 hours ago, Zen said: If the Mongoose dragster comes out again then they really need to do the yellow Snake version also. That will depend if Prudhomme, his daughter, agrees to it. His licensed items are controlled by his daughter, and for quite some time, she held on to it pretty tight. Slixx made every decal out there for McEwen, but nothing for Prudhomme, because she said no. Things have changed a bit, and hopefully they allow Revell to use his name again.
Mark Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Round 2 did a couple of Prudhomme cars in recent years. His daughter might have been choking off the flow of licensed items until after the (excellent) book on him came out. Now that the book is out, there might be more new items to catch the wave generated by the book. 1

Bugatti Fan Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 (edited) Remember all those nice 1/32nd scale Classic Car kits by Pyro? They had quite a range back in the day. Did they go to Atlantis I wonder along with all the other Pyro kits for ships and other subjects? Also Pyro had the moulds from Impact, a small UK manufacturer who made a small range of four inter war aircraft .in 1/48th scale. Gloster Gladiator, Fairey Flycatcher, Hawker Fury and Bristol Bulldog that were all beautiful, very well detailed kits. I wonder if Atlantis has those too? Edited March 13, 2023 by Bugatti Fan 1
s.p.e.c.t.r.e. Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I think all the Pyro molds are at Round 2, based on the Lindberg reissues in the past, and the Serpent issue of a few years ago. the reason behind the large amount of 1/32 kits in the sixties was the that was the scale of most of the public slot car tracks that were huge during the that time, and lexan bodys were not conceived until the end of that decade. So all the slot cars were styrene.

They were originally with Round2 from when they purchased Lindberg, but Round2 later sold a bunch of the really ancient and odd ball tooling onto Atlantis which was the original point of this thread when it was started 2 1/2 yrs ago. 1

Sure they're both Nailheads, and may even be based off the same master. However, the parts pack engine has some unique parts from the Ivo engines including a more conventional oil pan, different (non-branded) valve covers and most importantly an actual transmission. I think it's worthwhile to release.
Dave Van Posted March 13, 2023 Author Posted March 13, 2023 Whoever has it.........I want this PYRO kit.......... It is a variation of the Serpent so if it is around.....R2 has it. 1

TB About a year ago, there was an interview with Jim Keeler posted to YouTube. In it, he showed some mockups of the various projects on which he was working. He clearly had an assembled Nailhead on the bench. My presumption is that it was the Parts Pack version, so I'm assuming there's plans to include it in one of the upcoming "Keeler's Kustoms" releases.
