Tom Geiger
I built this one a long time ago! I had the photos out for a purple theme on another board. Well received there so I thought I’d share them here. AMT Dodge van.. originally was going to build a cube van. Then I looked at combining both ends to create a pickup cab. Then I created a stake bed to get experience working with bass wood. I kept the rear windows from the van doors but filled in the door line detail. Used kit tail lights too. I believe the paint was Pactra RC Colors with a clear coat. Viper wheels were originally put on temporarily but people liked it so they stayed. Important to anyone who wants to duplicate the cab.. the two roof areas do not mate well.. they are at different levels. The van roof may appear to be flat but it has a continuous curve. I had to add plastic inside the rear section since I sanded through the roof getting it all level. And here’s what was left of the van after the cuts. This section bummed around the model room and got used as a paint stand for years until I looked at it one day... And it became this! Never throw away old parts.. waste not, want not! espo
Very cool looking little truck. I can see this being done in 1:1 but it would never have the level of finish seen here. I remember your trailer build, that is special also.
doorsovdoon
Cool little truck. I love the trailer!

Bucky
Very unique concept, but a 1:1 would fit in well in my area of the world! Well done, sir!!
slusher
Really neat how you made that little pick! Love the camper!

Claude Thibodeau
Hi Tom! Great concept. Mopar should have used it to increase their offer with a "platform" tradesman truck. Moving the back panel forward in the same way, but keeping the box sides would recreate the Lil' Red Wagon, in a way... CT
Goose1957
Neat builds. I thought I saw the trailer before, I always thought that looked great. You build some cool, interesting stuff. Jeff
Tom Geiger
Thank you everyone! It's an old build and a simple one at that. But it's sure getting some interest here! ?
Chuck Most
I like it. Aren't those Prowler wheels, not Viper wheels?

AmericanMuscleFan
Very cool construction Tom! It's a good (and plausible) way to recycle an old pickup truck and turn it into a homemade pickup truck. The trailer is also really well made and convincing. Good rescue for a good cause!!!
