afx Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 (edited) Is that the Trumpeter Falcon chassis? Nice job. Edited October 9, 2020 by afx
John Pol Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 You should describe what you all done to get it look like that and what you use I`m sure there alot of guys here that would like build that one great job by the way
JPolli Posted October 10, 2020 Author Posted October 10, 2020 Thanks for the kind words. The build from the Moebius Arnie Beswick Comet kit. The engine was taken from the Dyno Don Mercury Cyclone F/C kit with the Blower and blower hat from Calnaga Resin. The chassis, fire wall and dash were modified so the engine could be moved back to the interior. The engine cover (dog house) was made from Evergreen Styrene. The front suspension was taken from the AMT 55 Chevy Nomad kit. Front tires are from Speed City Resin. Front Wheels are from a Polar Lights F/C kit. Rear Slicks are from the Revell Miss Deal F/C kit. Rear Wheels are from Speed City Resin. Paint is Tamiya Clear Red over Testors Pure Gold. Decals are from PoleKat Decals. Will be more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about the build.
Draggon Posted October 21, 2020 Posted October 21, 2020 Great work, this is one of my favorite 60's drag cars. Love it ?
echo Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 Nice ! The early exhibition cars were some of my favorites, ushering in the funny cars. You did a wonderful job on your model, a lot of nice details & scratch building.
M W Elky Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 That came out crazy good I’ve been wanting to build this one myself. Very well done.
R. Thorne Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Clean, accurate, build with lots of attention to detail and copious research done to ensure realism. Bravo!
Nitrobarry Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 The wheel base is spot on! Nice build! Not to be critical of other modelers that have built these kits, but I find the wheelbase of the standard kits to be a might off especially the front wheels. Looks too short. Anyone else feel that way?
TransAmMike Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Very nice job on the Comet James. The engine set-back on those cars was crazy.

Zippi Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Nice looking Comet. I like the old school drag cars.
