The worst movie has been discussed. What's your favorite movie? Mine is Dr. Strangelove - How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

I can't really pinpoint a favourite movie, I've seen so many good ones in my time, but when I'm asked what is my favourite, the first film that pops into my head is usually The Shawshank Redemption.

One particular favourite? Can't do it.

But some of my all time go-to movies that I can watch again and again?

The Jason Bourne movies

The original Star Wars Trilogy

Alien

Aliens

Christine

Anything Monty Python

The Indiana Jones movies, although maybe Temple Of Doom not so much.

Lots of favorite comedy movies that I tune into on tv and then have to force myself to switch off because I've seen them so many times. Same with others but my all time favorite is Grand Prix. Saw it with my Dad when I was 10 years old with the big Panavision (think that's what it's called) screen and the visual and audio was breathtaking. Still watch it about once a year.

The more I think about it, the more it keeps coming back to American Graffiti.

Closest runner-up would be Duel.

The Birds

Carnival of Souls

Flight of the Phoenix (1965)

The Blob (1958)

Ginger and Fred

Strait-Jacket

The Giant Gila Monster

Dillinger (1973)

Cuba

Used Cars

The Great Race

The Queen

Flash Gordon

Shadow of a Doubt

Our Man in Marrakesh

...and many others.

2001: A Space Odyssey is at the top of a very short list I've paid money to see more than once.  Blade Runner, and Ladyhawke are the other two.

Movies I'll watch whenever they come on the tube:

I like this movie as well.

It's got a good cast and very good story line...... Have you seen the other movie that the director did, called The Science of Sleep?

Posted (edited)

Not my favourite but one of my top movies is a film made in and around my own town in Wales called Twin Town. If you like dark humour you'll love it.

Great taste in movies!

Especially "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "Silence of the Lambs", and "Saving Private Ryan".

I really liked "Jeremiah Johnson",  "Seven", and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" as well.

I will add the Coen brother's remake of "True Grit" with Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Hailee Steinfeld.

Absolutely one of Jeff Bridges' best performances, along with his portrayal of "the dude" in "The Big Lebowski". ;)
