Equipped with a Toyota 2JZ

1973 Mercedes-Benz 280C with a 2JZ GTE swap [1024 × 676] : carporn

That's sweet!  Can get a resin engine too.  Now find a kit of that car.  ?

I built this last century, wasn't crazy about the curbside chassis.

All of these great looking cars makes me think we might start seeing a new direction in some builds here. I know I got a few ideas.

Well, I've started on an Prior AMG GT using the Revell kit and C1 trans-kit.

Ah nice, the "Rote Sau"! It was kind of an outlaw in the racing business, indeed. The one from the pictures is a factory replica of the car that finished 2nd in the 1971 24 Hours of Spa. The original car was sold to French company Matra, who modified it with a mechanism to test fighter jet tires. It is unknown what happened to the car afterwards.

Thank you Matthias for the information, it helps to know the background to fully appreciate the photos.

This is Hans Heyer and his 1980 500 SLC Le Mans car. The story I read said that he built this for one reason--to be the fastest down the Mulsanne straight. Varying reports say it didn't work, was banned, or Mercedes wouldn't allow him to race it.

There you go, the first AMG.  Funny how it wasn't lowered at all.

Some cars need to remain unseen, at least more than once.  ?  Love the military style of that.  ⬆️

I looked through a book Extraordinary Automobiles published 1983, took some shots which aren't the best resolution, but gives a great idea what was cool back then.

I was doing some research, found this cool Mercedes Benz W121 190D Ponton Pickup, never knew these existed.

Found these on Pinterest:

I grew up with a '60 190 sedan.  This has the modern 190 2.5 Evo running gear.
