That'll send fear into those ricers at a stop light. LOL!

You gotta admit, that's bad to the bone even sitting still. But open her up, hear her roar.

What you're actually gonna hear is that tortured front UJ snapping, the sound of metal twisting as those ridiculous shackles pretzel, and the resulting screeeeeeee-thump as she pole-vaults on the driveshaft.

Who arched those front springs!? They look like something from an 80’s monster truck!

I liked the Street Freak era. Nice to see somebody keep it alive. I have a magazine somewhere, that highlighted a shop that did high end gassers and freaks. They turned out a really cool GTO.

I think that magazine was about seven years ago.

I believe they're highboy suspensions... common with most high boy gassers.

That high riding Catalina reminds me of MPC box art, like the MPC '70 Impala...

Or the '72 Impala..

There were monster trucks in the day that had leaf packs that were arched like that as well.........though somehow I’d imagine that the ride and handling of those were better than most of those “Street Freaks”....

Anyone know if that car is still around?

Look closer at the images, and don't assume the O.P.'s "back in the day" comment is rooted in fact:

Not sure why the O.P. posted a reversed image, but here's the correct shot:

To clarify, I didn't  assume anything.  I've seen this pic before.  It was a valid question.
