As it has the front indicator lamps higher up beside the fresh air grille, it's a 1972 onwards T2,before '72 the lamps were much lower down on the front panel.

There's other things that are different from the earlier model, squared off non wrap around bumpers and flared wheel arches.

Thank you

So these are just like the Bug and the Porsche 911, the same for decades.

In Europe and the U.S.A yes, there was a few other changes,  engines and fuel injection,  but nothing that you'd pick out on a model, the second generation T2 stopped production in Germany in 1979, so the face-lift model was only in production in Germany for 6 years.

A snap kit with opening everything, lots of detail and unusual subject matter. What's not to like?

Count me in. I'll even have to get a couple more for my kids, sounds like family-time-together fun!

When's it coming out?

The revell t2 bus is now available to purchase in europe. I've got mine on the way and will do a full review once they arrive but heres the pics from hannants website and a sneak pic of the camper version coming later this year (i'd expect it before christmas but no official date yet)RV7667.thumb.jpg.5d032e9f4541ca907bd4808a27c18f2b.jpgRV7667_1.thumb.jpg.63ceff6868a58363221ad58d962b4d15.jpgRV7667_2.jpg.cc674af9cfcde60cac6c1315c4750216.jpgRV7667_3.jpg.f67f8600cd6ec152ce50fb1ac83802b0.jpgRV7667_4.jpg.240aa19e996ab58b9626cb9149c66913.jpgRV7667_5.jpg.cad1ce85d7ccbd0cb3debcfa28c2a073.jpgRV7667_6.jpg.179bd8e159204d0684ebee8b418e6bb3.jpgRV7667_7.jpg.3a0cc03876d5c11b44178dc846c44c9c.jpg

I know I'm looking forward to them arriving, the first one is getting a scooby engine and 17" brms and the other might get mixed with the hasegawa pick up. I can easily see me buying more. I have lots of fun memories of these old buses having owned a proper beater of a camper that ate engines like candy. Not a problem when they were readily available for peanuts and could be swapped in less than 20 mins

It look to me like they have a type 4 engine in it which is different to what I had, and the steering column looks bent in the pics. The tow hitch is nice touch though and hopefully the aftermarket will bring out a piece to convert it to the other versions

My former employer had such a camper.

Me too, but mine didn't have the pop top cos I replaced the roof. Made the hammock a bit pointless though, lol

Yup. Whoever built the model missed the hole in the floor it's supposed to go in, hence the bend.

Looks like a very nice kit though.    :D

Looks like I'll have to pick up both versions for my VW collection! I missed out on a running/driving 70s Westfalia for $1500 a few years ago. By the time I got there it was sold. :(

Easy click system? Is that like snap together?

Yes it's their name for SnapTite, they've been using it for a few years now starting with the earlier Tractor kits.

Cool. Looks pretty good for a snap together.

I've just been having a closer look at mine and since I had the hasegawa t1 pick up to hand I compared them. Its going to be a very simple conversion to a pick up. The door openings line up exactly, and the width is spot on. It will just be a case of cutting the hasegawa along the door shuts and gluing it on, the only area that might need some work is the rear of the cab along the upper door shuts and the roof. I'm going to do this conversion very soon but I thought you might want to see.

If manufacturers would be making more odd ball subjects like this - instead of the everyday Camaros, Mustangs, 57 Chevys and Chevelles - ad nauseam, I wouldn't care if they were snap kits, Craftsman kits or unassembled promos. I'd buy them all!
