Wavy body lines, blurry decals, ripply chrome...this is probably the best representation of an out of box build that Round2 has shown of this kit!?

Another stupid tin box release?  Ugh!  I'd rather see them spend the "tin box" money on molding them in different colors.   Perhaps molding the body in an authentic color that can be polished out or something.

Maybe if it was a decent kit I might have bought one...but it's not worth it as the Revell/Monogram kit is waaayyy better.

Someone is definitely asleep on the spell check & research at Round 2!  I like the idea of the tin box and bought the Studebaker one, but think I'll pass on this one.

LOL.

Not so fast, bud.

It's up to you as the model builder to make the model look wavy, blurry and ripply...

Kimi and Valtteri only racing Finns most people know. Lots others.
At least they didn’t call it a Whale Tale.
Spelchek ftw.

I really like that stamp art, on this one anyways; but the rest is, like, pure millennial marketing. Maybe it's, like, to go with the 'noss' and that hoist kit with the hilarious far eastern engrish translation naming style

This issue is aimed at people more interested in the tin than the contents _ those people being collectors of stamps and other postal memorabilia. My guess is the vast majority of them will never have the shrink wrap removed.

Look, most modelers with half a brain know this kit isn't worth the plastic it took to mold it and that the currently available Revell kit is vastly superior in every conceivable way of you actually want to, y'know, BUILD a model of a '69 Daytona.

Even though it's a decent kit, unlike the Daytona, the same comments mostly  apply to the recent tin-packed '53 Stude reissue.  That kit has been reissued si many times that I expect it would take all of 5 minutes to locate one on the secondary market cheaper than the tin box one.

I dont need one, But me personally I like the accuracy of the door scallops on the AMT kit over the revell version

But cool box art none the less

I gotta say- the artwork for this Daytona is spectacular. That’s a beautiful, dynamic rendering. If they ever sell a print of this, I will have to get one.

The first Daytona I ever saw up close was at an indoor car show in Philly (I’m not sure if it was an ISCA show, or???). There were lots of custom cars there. One guy had a Daytona- orange with the black stripe and wing, just like the car on the stamp/ tin art. His was mostly stock, with 80’s Cragar wheels on it ?. That car still really made an impression on me.

I'm just hoping they're serious enough to fill out all the stamps. These ones would get me to buy into their tin box gimmick.
