bill lanfear Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Well I finally finished this one. Unfortunately, it is -20 outside so I had to take pics inside with crappy lighting so sorry about the quality of the pictures. I started with the Moebius 65 utility bed kit. The kit items I used was the cab, glass, hood, front bumper, and most of the interior. I designed and 3d printed almost everything else. Parts box pieces are the carb, intake, and fan. She is sporting a 292 v8 with a Borg Warner T98 4 speed. I made this one as a very low mileage original truck as it would be in 1979. I hope you like it and thanks for checking it out. Comments welcome!

Can you tell us about the printer, material, software and post-print processes you used to get those magnificent prints? Thank you Paul, I use an Anycubic Photon printer with regular 405 wavelength resin (Grey). I wash the parts with 3 baths of 91% - 99% alcohol and cure it for about a min under a UV lamp. The larger parts sometimes warp or curl when they fully cure and become really brittle but a quick 30 seconds of heat from a space heater or whatever heat source gets them soft enough to get them back to correct shape.. I then sand if necessary and prime and paint as usual. I use Sketchup for the modeling and design software. Hope this helps!
PHPaul Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Thank you, Bill. The resin printer explains a lot of it, I just have a PLA/ABS filament printer.
NOBLNG Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 (edited) Fabulous job on this one! It looks like this old workhorse has led a pretty pampered life.? From looking at your build thread, that printer can do some amazing stuff! I wish I had the technical savvy to operate one.? Edited February 13, 2021 by NOBLNG

steveracer Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 I am gonna pile on Bill. Awesome looking truck. Underhood looks perfect with just enough detail. You should list this on Bring a Trailer, probably get 40 grand for it. LOL!
Mattilacken Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Turned out great! Great work with al those details!
Kromolly Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 That is an awesome build. So clean, and outstanding detail!
leafsprings Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 (edited) Great job Bill. Everything looks great, the factory color, Custom Cab interior, styleside bed, engine, barden rear bumper, 8 lug wheels, mirrors, chromed grill and white painted front bumper. Extra thanks for doing a subject that has been completely ignored for soo long. I'll never build a '61-'63 integral unibody again. Edited February 14, 2021 by leafsprings
AmericanMuscleFan Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Very good job Bill, powder blue is a very good choice for the truck, it gives it a vintage feel! Very nice details under the hood, it looks real. ?
bogger44 Posted February 15, 2021 Posted February 15, 2021 Awesome Ford, Bill! Excellent detailing underhood, and love that color choice. The stance is spot on too, amazing work. ?
