See, this is why I only wanna build drag cars..... ALL THAT INTERIOR STUFF!

LOL, just kiddin around, this is freakin awesome esp. that front spoiler, beautiful work!. The 'only' thing I see being off is the front seats need to move forward some, there's no foot room for the poor rear seat passengers! HA!

Thanks! To be fair the interior started out extremely simple and then I happened to it! ?

UPDATE!

This week I was able to get all of the black trim painted. Now I’m going to let all of the red parts sit for a few weeks then they will get a polish and wax. Here is the car mocked up and for the first time on its axles so this is the actual stance. It looked neat lower but the oil pan is just clear of dragging on the ground as it is. I would say that the final stance is more realistic for a driver. I made use of the upper axle holes at the front and the lower axle holes in the rear that are provided.

That stance looks right on in my eye!?

That "Arrest Me Red" is certainly eye catching! It's coming together nicely! -RRR

Thanks! I chose bright red because the wheels came from the ZZ Top Eliminator Coupe kit. Thought it would be a nice nod to the source. ?

UPDATE!

This week I managed to get the interior tub and seats painted on my lunch breaks at work. Much masking took place to make this happen. Typically an hour of masking to 5 minutes of painting! ? I absolutely couldn’t resist a quick mock up after dinner tonight and I could not be happier with how this all turned out. I can’t wait to fill it with details! Now, without further ado…

(Oh, and I borrowed the tan/gray two-tone seat combo from the ‘29 Pickup my pal @Rocking Rodney Rat built last year for the Tim Boyd @tim boyd tribute thread in the truck section. That combo had never occurred to me before and I just dug it so much!)

Love the paint scheme- proper red! The blacked out trim hearkens back to the 80s trend of "Euro-styling", when we were painting all bright trim black! I had a red '81 Monte Carlo I did in exactly this color scheme in 1988.

Very nice looking build so far! Your color choices are fantastic. Really like how the grey Engine colors go with the red Engine bay ad the addition of the red in the interior as well. Very nice plug wire work on the engine as well. I saved your pix of that for my own future reference!  Well done sir!

UPDATE!

Its been a minute since I’ve updated this project because I’ve been spending my time on my ‘90 Mustang. Today I spent the afternoon on this poor, neglected Nova. After brush painting all up inside of the front clip flat black I went ahead and polished & waxed the body, hood, bumpers, dash, console and sub box. As usual I used Adam’s paint correcting polish on a microfiber followed up with their buttery liquid wax.  Very pleased with the results!

Then I blacked out the spaces between the grill bars with a very fine brush and Testors little jar flat black. This was a tedious process but had to be done. One of the nice things about detailing with Testors little jar paint over Tamiya clear is that if you get it where it doesn’t belong just wipe it off with your fingertip (right away) and keep going.

Under the hood I painted the windshield wiper fluid reservoir white and then installed the pump motor with a black line connecting the two. I also installed the brake booster/master cylinder and fuel pressure regulator on the passenger side.

The interior is nearly done. The seats are still loose and will be glued down after I make and install the power cables to the amps and install all of the photo etched speaker grills. What is done is the dash with photo etched gauge panel (with digital faces) and photo etched radio/equalizer. The center console and sub box are glued down along with the sub faces, amps and spare wheel assembly. I also installed the photo etched door handles, window handles and pedal pads.

So this one is getting really close to the finish line. Still left is to paint the chassis pan after I do some final details on the wheel mounting and I’m also going to lightly tint the windows.

I really like how this one’s coming together! The extra little details you’re adding to the engine bay add a lot - and I’m still loving that color ?

Verrrrrrrry nice…. Looking awesome Dennis. I’m still concerned about that pesky squirrel tho, keep him away from the speaker/amp wiring!! Seriously though, nice to see an update on this one, she’s going to be a beauty once complete.

Thanks a bunch! I’m super happy with the color. I can’t picture it anything else. Now I just need to stop distracting myself and get it done!!! ?
