cobraman Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Just finished this up . Nice kit . Goes together well . Built right out of box , no mods . Painted Tamiya Metallic Green and Tamiya Titanium Gold . Clear is Duplicolor 1k . Wheel spokes were painted with Mr. Hobby Brass . I put the decal on the air cleaner backwards . I did it while on the sprue not knowing it fit on the carb. one direction . I had a 50/50 chance of getting it wrong and I did . I always manage to goof on something . 1
stinkybritches Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 You've been knocking out some great looking kits lately, this one is no exception. Love everything about it.
Claude Thibodeau Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Hi Ray! What a nice PU, the gloss coat seems ultra smooth and shiny. Bravo! The contrasting hood "panels" and roof are a great match for the wheel spokes! CT
Zippi Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Dang Ray.....that came out nice. Love that 2 tone color.
Doug 1061 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Great job. I need to find one of these kits.
slusher Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Beautiful Ford, clear and paint ? look ? perfect…
mchook Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Man that came out nice! I love the paint and you finished it up so fast. Great job as usual.
espo Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 I like the way you did your two tone color paint and great looking finish. You know if I was looking at the air cleaner still on the spruce I would have thought that the air cleaner would have gone the other way around as well. Very nice use of colors on the chassis and drive train.
cobraman Posted September 22, 2021 Author Posted September 22, 2021 Thanks David. I think the finish is mostly due to the Duplicolor 1K clear. I love this stuff !
jjsipes Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Great paint job. I see it looks like you used the kit supplied wood decal for the bed. How did it lay down for you? I just painted and dry brushed wood grain on mine, figured the decal would give some trouble.
cobraman Posted September 22, 2021 Author Posted September 22, 2021 Thanks Jason. The bed decal was kind of a pain because I assembled the bed before applying it. If you put it one while the bed floor is flat I don't see that there would be a problem.
PappyD340 Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 That's a beautiful 56, love the colors, very well done Ray!!
Plowboy Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 That is SHARP !! I love the colors on it! What did you shoot the Metallic Green over? Nice work Ray!
Koellefornia Kid Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Great colour combo for this truck!
