tbill Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I like what you’ve got going on so far, should be a cool looking ride.
Zippi Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Looking pretty sharp. Love the old fat fender cars & trucks.
misterNNL Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Super organized work bench. Looks like something from IKEA. This is going to be fun to watch develop.
Olskoolrodder Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 This is gonna be cool! Off to a great start, I'm definitely following this
mrm Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Looking good. what kit does that supercharger comes from?
Beamerman Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 Thank you all.. @Tom: Yes it´s true...Ikea Desk and Hobbyzone Store Organizer...works good for me...:-) @ Michael: The supercharger is out of my partsbox. I think it´s from the first AMT 1957 BelAir release when the Plastic was brown...not sure but i think it was also supplied from matchbox?? Did some more work on the rear... Needs some more putty... Cheers! 1
slusher Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Really nice Start, I like the custome tail lights…
Bullybeef Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 Loving this so far. One correction if I may though. The placement of your distributor is incorrect for a flat head engine. They are driven from the crank in either a front or a front offset.

I had the feeling there is something wrong...i tried to find a nice resin engine for the kit but sadly at the moment no american dealer would send me parts to germany so i need to take what i have... But i will correct that fault on the weekend... Great that you guys here have a eye on these things... Cheers! 1
Beamerman Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 Hello all, i startet working on my 1940 Ford again... One thing i never liked on these cars is the hood so i pancaked it. I added styrene for new trimline and tried to get a good look. I also added frenched headlights... Lots of sanding and primer for the next days... Cheers!
mrm Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Really cool project. Nice job on the hood. If you don't mind me asking, where did the supercharger on your engine come from? 1

One of the first Issues with the Brown sprues and a custom parts...i think Order No. #6563 Cheers!

That supercharger has been in every issue of the original tool AMT 57 Bel Air from the early 60's (with the possible exception of a couple issues where the owners of AMT at the given time pulled all the custom parts out to make it stock only) 1
rightrudder Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Wow, lots of cool modifications & fabrication on this one! Great work. ? 1
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Some really nice work going on here. I could build twice the number of models that I do if I had an organized bench like that! -RRR 1

Can it be found in any currently available kit? By the way, anyone willing to lend me a complete supercharger like that (preferably with the belts that come with it), I'll make a mold and return two extra pieces to you. I am not into making bodies and big stuff like that, but I've cast plenty of small parts for personal use. 1

I think the most recent version of that kit was the Pepper Shaker, which was out just a few years ago. I would be willing to loan you that blower to make a mold as you mentioned. If still interested PM me.
Paul Payne Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Would you consider a V'd windshield to complement the v-shaped cowl area? Regarding that supercharger, it has been a favorite of mine for years. I have even doubled up the center casing to make a longer unit. 1

Paul i will keep the V-Windshield to get a close look...i like that V Style... I was very unhappy with the rearlights...so i decided to close the holes in the fenders and use Detail Master Photoetched Rear lights for a more clean look... Also i did some work on the Chassis and Wheels... I have to say i like where this is going...thanks to this inspiring forum... Cheers! 1
