Smoke Wagon Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 (edited) This one started off as the most recent Trophy Series reissue. I decided to go the stock route with it. Round mirrors are from one of the mid-60’s Moebius Fords. Edited January 10, 2022 by Smoke Wagon Typo 4
Rusty92 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Came out great! I just read your build thread and am impressed with the work.
Smoke Wagon Posted January 10, 2022 Author Posted January 10, 2022 Thanks Jacob! Also I forgot to show the underside. 1
Zippi Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 That turned out really nice Riley. The color's look perfect for that truck. Gotta love the Flatty in the business end. I love the ole trucks so you get an A+ from me on this one. Nice job.
Smoke Wagon Posted January 10, 2022 Author Posted January 10, 2022 Thanks guys. I agree about the oldies Bob. Does the little bit of super glue clouding in the windshield affect my letter grade though?

grodudulle77 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 The color goes well with this old pick-up , nice work !!??
espo Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I like the way you captured the look of the way they were. Very basic sturdy work truck with realistic finishes thru out. I would put this in the front of your model display shelf.
Smoke Wagon Posted January 10, 2022 Author Posted January 10, 2022 Thanks folks. 3 hours ago, Zippi said: Haha....that's character not clouding Hehehe. That’s right. Caught some goober breathing on the glass, that’s all.
happy grumpy Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Although there are some wonderful custom builds I am partial to these old stock workhorse. I grew up around them and they bring back good memories of a bygone era. I really like the way you build this.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Love seeing one of these built stock, with appropriate upgrades. I'll always think this series Ford PU was one of the best looking light trucks ever built, and your model does it justice. PS: I missed the build thread. Is the side-mount spare and fender cutout in the kit now, or did you do the mods? Looks great, either way.

I’m partial to old stock vehicles as well. Something humble about them and their simplicity. Glad you dig this one. 4 hours ago, Ace-Garageguy said: I'll always think this series Ford PU was one of the best looking light trucks ever built, and your model does it justice. Ford sure made this body style easy on the eyes didn’t they? Same goes for the “Bonus Built” Fords too IMO. As for your question, the kit has the same old fenders it’s had all along, but the modification was easy to do:
Dave72 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Very nicely done! I just read your thread on this one over on the workbench. Very cool idea on the chains as well as the spare tire mount and indent. One question, how did you get the electrical tape so tight and keep it stuck on the chain? Well done sir. Looks great!

Thanks for the kind words. As for your question, I cut out a piece of tape about 1/2” long and rolled the chain up in it tightly, then hit the whole deal with a lighter until the tape conformed around the chain.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Looks awesome!! The paint is perfect! This one looks to be flawless! Excellent work!

TransAmMike Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 Just saw this one Riley...great looking stock truck. As others have said it looks grat in the color you chose and the finish looks accurate for that era paint job.☝️

Smoke Wagon Posted January 12, 2022 Author Posted January 12, 2022 Thanks Mike. Too bad paint wasn’t as durable back then as it is now, we’d probably have a lot more 1:1s that didn’t get infected by the midwest rust demon.
David G. Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 Color selection, paint and assembly all look great! Beautifully Done! David G.
