happy grumpy Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 This thing is wee .Nice little kit though without any issue. the rust was achieved using the salt method and artist oils and pigments to blend the effects. thanks for looking. 3 2
89AKurt Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Not just because I built that kit, but this is really cool! Nice job on it, but the windows are too clean. ~raz~ Love the barn setting too.
Doug 1061 Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Too cool. Rust not over done. Barn looks great also.
Spottedlaurel Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Nice one Mario! That has a lot of character and it's the way most Minis went here. My mum had several, on the first one the external hinge area rusted-out and the door fell off when I opened it one day.....
Zippi Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Now that looks pretty kewl Mario. Nice weathering. Love that Diorama scene.
Jim B Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Nice weathering effects on your Mini. Well done.
Pierre Rivard Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Wow Mario. Absolutely wonderful build. The car and diorama both look so lifelike. I wish I could do rust like that but that's beyond my capabilities. Epic effort!
Bainford Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 Nice work, Mario. What great looking rust. Very authentic. It gives the Mini so much personality. It has some stories to tell. Great work!
Ulbo Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Cool rusty Mini, great job, the rust is your best technique or skill I think?
ModelcarJR Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Nice looking rust bucket! the windows look like it is being driven but I don't think I would get behind the wheel! Nice work! ??
1959scudetto Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 Oh, Mario, what have you done to one of my all-time favorites? It breaks my heart to see a Mini in such condition. Well done, as always - perfect weathering and great background, too! By the way, did you intentionally mount the rear bumper upside down?

Thanks Hemut, well I guess I did. Must have been late at night, add aging to that and you get oopsies. I did wonder though if the front bumper was ok The plate is almost touching the ground but after looking at pictures on the internet , It is right. Thanks for pointing that out , I will correct it. best regards,
