Bummer about Ken Miles getting killed in that "J" car wreck....?

My son bought me a dvd/Blue Ray copy of FvF when it first came out.  Have watched it a few times.  The Extras in the package are really good.

I was watching it on DVR up until a scene where Carroll Shelby asked to land the small plane they were in and the recording went completely black and no sound. The entire rest of the movie was like this so I erased it and now I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to DVR it again. I did see one racing scene that was supposed to be around 1964 and I spotted a '67 big block hood on a Corvette. I'm sure I'll see more Hollywood mistakes in the rest of the film.

I have mixed feelings about the movie. On one hand, it is a great movie. The acting is great and it has the best CGI I have ever seen. (I realized I wasn'tnoticing the switches between live action and CGI.) However, why does Hollywood always think they can write a better story than history. So much of that movie never took place. Like the fact that Enzo Ferrari was not at the 1966 Le Mans race - he never attended any races. And then having over spoilered MKIIs stand in for the J-Car and MkIV. They couldn't get a MkIV?

Its a wonderful MOVIE, but it is not "HISTORY".

Finally saw the rest of the movie. It would be interesting to talk to the people that were actually there and see how much the Hollywood version embellished the real story but that is always the case. On a side note, a good friend of mine who lives out in LA and is also a SAG member is an acquaintance of that guy who played Lee Iacocca and I'll have to ask him if he knows any details about this film next time I talk to him. He's always got dirt on these things.

The movie producers were very loose with the race results.  One example was the 66 Daytona race where Miles and Ruby by eight laps and not a neck and neck battle for the win like in the movie.  Worse yet some the result of the races in the movie were rewritten to show Miles winning in a Cobra over the real winner MacDonald.  Despite all the errors (intentional or otherwise) at the end of the day it is worth watching and entertaining for non racing fans which would be the majority of viewers so it’s no surprise they made changes.

I finally got to see this movie last night on cable TV. While I enjoyed it overall many parts left me to wonder about the personal relationships and the actions of some of the characters and how they were portrayed. I kept hoping something very bad would happen to the one Ford Exec.

Great flick. But too bad the writers had to make Leo Beebe such a bad guy.

Agree. Needed bad guy I guess. But not that big an antagonist IRL
