Plowboy Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 I built this model probably 15+ years ago. Maybe longer. I had bought an '81 F-150 High Roller on ebay. But, when I got it, it was missing the bed floor and a couple of other pieces. I got a partial refund. But, I had a model that I couldn't build. So, I decided to use the High Roller parts on this Bronco. I did quite a bit of work on it. I filled the floor, scratch built an exhaust, firewall, push bar, step bars, roll bar and sub box. The little 302 got ditched in favor of a 351C from a Monogram NASCAR. I mixed the tan and sprayed it with an airbrush. The rest was painted with Testors Boyd's Teal. Then covered with a coat of clear. Thanx for checking it out! 5
espo Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Great looking color combination and finish. Almost to pretty to take too far off road. Looking under the hood is when I remembered Ford was using some specially treated metal for inner finders on their trucks at that time. 1
iamsuperdan Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Looks great! Has kind of an Eddie Bauer Bronco vibe to it. 1
vincen47 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Nice. I love the paint. She’s a beauty. I have a 1:1 ‘86 Eddie Bauer. This is the first time I’ve seen someone to an EB inspired paint scheme on the forum. I like the tail light treatment, that’s unique, too. 1
Zippi Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Nice job on this one. Looks like a 1:1. The color looks great. 1
Maindrian Pace Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Really neat, reminds me of the red/tan '86 Eddie Bauer Bronco that my father bought new, our first 4x4. 1
mk11 Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 That... is a real treat to look at. Amazing what a well chosen classy color combo can do for realism. 1
Hmann68 Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 That’s sharp! Great color combo! Looks awesome lifted with those wheels and tires! I had all of the high roller kits when I was a kid, wish I had them now! Nice work incorporating it into this Bronco ?? 1
PappyD340 Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Very nice Bronco, I had an 86 F150 in the same color combination. 1

Actually, those inner fenderwells are wrong for '80 and up Fords. I should have changed it. But, I wasn't up for the task.
Bainford Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Good looking Bronco, Roger. The colour combo on this is quite striking. Very nicely done. 1
Intmd8r Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Awesome - Very reminiscent of the Eddie Bauer Edition Broncos seen with the later generations. 1

Thanx Mike! I had an '86 XLT, 300 six cylinder, automatic, 4.10 gears with 38" Buckshot Mudders. I cut the fenders out (the rears were pretty rusty) so that I wouldn't have to do a lift. I beat it to death for years and it still kept going. I only got it stuck twice. But, both times the mud was up to the bumpers. Had a lot of fun in that old thing.

Never saw the Bronco until several years ago on ebay. I always got outbid on them! So, I just made my own.

I had an '83 F-100 that was the same color green. I hated green until I got that truck. In certain light, it would look blue.

The '85 was the first year for the Eddie Bauer edition Bronco. Exact same body. But the grille was different. It had the Ford emblem in the center and no letters on the hood.
asfastasu Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Looks good, really good. The paint colors on the body are what really pulls this model together, I love it! 1
Kromolly Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Very nicely done and as many others said, excellent color combination. I wondered about the inner fenders, I know up to '79 Ford used the galvanized steel inner fenders. I like the look on your Bronco, though. and who cares if it's factory correct or not. Fantastic job on that build. I would be proud to have that on my shelf. 1
