1959scudetto Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) The 1965 Mustang fastback is one of my favorite American cars ever since I had the Matchbox model in 1966. So when Monogram issued their 1965 Shelby GT 350, I had to have one. Build is from 1986, pictures from 2008. Metallc blue stripes are spray painted as is the rest of the body (auto lacquers from the can, trim is silver enamel from Humbrol) – straight out-of-the-box. Edited May 30, 2022 by 1959scudetto 5
espo Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Great looking paint work and cleanly detailed. The blue stripe over the white body just looks right on the Shelbys. Your little El Camino looks interesting as well. 1
Vintage AMT Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) Built one just like that back in 86, it's out in the display case, though the white has yellowed a bit... Edited May 26, 2022 by Vintage AMT forgot an "a"
crazyjim Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Outstanding build. A kid I knew back when had a very similar Mustang only in dark green. 1
happy grumpy Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 That's a beautifully preserved model. Awesome paint job . Well done 1
Dragonhawk1066 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Nicely done! Those do look good in white and blue! 1
Zippi Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Your Mustang turned out really nice. Takes me back to when I had a 66 1:1 Mustang with those same stripes in black over the Tahoe Turquoise. 1
Gluebomber Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Super clean build of a classic. Great Work, Helmut! 1
