Ebbro 1956 Citroën DS19 - 1955 Paris Car Show Edition

Hello!

Here's another one of my Ebbro Citroëns. My goal with this build was to replicate one of the cars from the 1955 Paris Car Show where the DS19 was presented to the public.

The color combo is Spring Green(Vert Printemps) for the body and Champagne for the roof.

Nice kit that went together without any problems but is has some flaws: Ebbro omitted the charasteristic "bend" on the lower body and several things are not correct for an early model. E,G.  I had to change the exhaust to a central one with the "carp tail" tip which is correct for the 1956 model year.

Beautiful looking finishes. I was given a ride in one of these around 1960 or 1961 I was amazed at the time that we had to wait for the air suspension to compensate my getting into the car before we could drive off. This was the first time I came to know anything about a car with air suspension. The ride on the rough HI way was very smooth.

First one of these I’ve ever seen with gangster white walls - amazing how those WW tires change the appearance of this car - I like it! Also love the weird French styling, especially the weird roof and steering wheel! Beautiful job on the paint, engine and interior detailing. You’ve inspired me to keep my eyes out for one of these Ebbro kits (rare these days?)

Very nice model!  Just think how revolutionary that design was in 1956!   Downright space age!

I've always liked Citroen cures... the position of the spare tire... the steering wheel!    I remember being a kid on a trip to Paris in 1968 and being amazed at that wheel.   These were Taxi Cabs all over Paris at the time.
