A little progress...

Got it sitting on all four wheels and the one-piece hood/grill assembly fitted. The goal is to have a tilt hood, but not sure yet if that will work. Smoothing out the body and LOTS of fitting, filing, modifying....

A few updates...

Rear inner fender panels installed, trunk lid hinged, body smoothed out a bit more, flat firewall created, and the engine somewhat detailed and mockup-fitted.

What is the offset rear-facing hood scoop for you ask? It feeds cool air to the velocity stack on the Chrysler 2.2L Turbo 4-banger! Engine has been reconfigured to north-south orientation (instead of east-west FWD) and fitted with a clutch bell housing to connect the driveshaft to the rear mounted 5-speed transaxle.

Lots more left to do!

BTW...those "giant" 2mm screws holding the front suspension to the frame are temporary for mockup only. Once the frame is painted, the suspension will be glued and screw holes filled in.

I have been traveling for a while, but finally got back on this one today.

I temporarily pinned the body to the chassis so I could keep the body and hood aligned to make and install a discreet hinge for the one-piece tilt front hood. It was a bit finicky, but I think it will be OK. Now to get busy on the rest of it!

Some more progress. Got the hood scoop molded in and the tilt hood unit smoothed out a little more. Scratchbuilt the trunk box and got it fitted and started molding in the recessed and smoothed firewall. Also smoothed the grill bars off on the sectioned grille shell. Will use a grille decal after paint.

Every modification requires reworking something else. Lots of work yet to do. The body is channeled over the frame which will require modifying the interior panels. Will also be using a modified dash from the parts box.

Working trunk lid strut almost finished. I used a plastic tube from an aerosol spray can and a paper clip. It opens and closes with the lid and holds it open. Scale is a little large, but we'll just pretend it is a powered linear actuator which are a little bigger than gas struts.

Now on to the interior and more body work.
